Sovereign of the Seas

We sailed on the Sovereign of the Seas 4/07/02. After reading all the reviews of this ship, we were reluctant to book this cruise. We had sailed five times, two of them were with RCI, and had only good experiences. Surprisingly, this also turned out to be a a wonderful vacation. Embarkation was slower than some previous cruises, but felt the security level was much greater and didn't mind waiting. The food service was fantastic!!! The food was wonderful in taste, selections, preparation and presentation. I also noticed there were more casual opportunities to dine if you wanted. We enjoy the pampering!!!!!! in the dining room. The entertainment was good. The ship had choices for every personality. We loved the Viking Lounge, just to sit and relax. We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. The ship did have an odor of a sewage on our floor, as I had read about on other reviews. That was unpleasant. Other passengers had detected it and would spray to cover the odor. We experienced bad weather for sailing the first night and couldn't go to Coco Cay as planned on Monday. The whole itinerary changed and we were able to stop on the last day. That helped to make the trip even more perfect because we love snorkeling, relaxing in the hammocks and the picnic. Disembarkation was fast once our color was called. It was the FASTEST we ever found our luggage. It was a Fabulous 4-Day Escape!
