Allure of the Seas

October 2013 - Allure of the Seas to Caribbean - Western

Love the Allure!

So much to do for all ages, not crowded although sold out and very, very clean!   From the rock climbing, zip line, ice skating, flow rider to the multiple restaurant choices and great shows this ship can't be beat.  Even before boarding check-in was quick and easy.  Once onboard everyone from the crew we encountered had a smile on their face and were more than willing to help by answering our questions, provide directions or just give a big smile and "good morning".  The Dreamworks Experience was a great bonus for the kids!

Another thing we noticed was how uncrowded the pool areas felt.  We have been on cruise where you can't find a place to sit and relax around the pools but on the Allure the pools are spread out in a way that it never felt overly crowded.

Only two issues with the entire cruise:

1. We had a Boardwalk Balcony cabin with two adults and two kids and it was very small.  Very little storage for hanging clothes and no where to keep the luggage.  We have been on 20 cruises and this cabin by far was the smallest we have ever had.  Probably wouldn't be too bad for two, but way too small for four.  On a good note, we did enjoy the balcony overlooking the boardwalk while still being able to see the ocean out of the back of the ship.

2. The towel distrbution to take a towel to the private island in Haiti was bit bit messed up.  First the towels were being distributed in one of the smoking areas, so nonsmokers were forced to stand in line with smokers sitting on both sides of the line which was a bit uncomfortable.  Also the towels were being distributed at the pool deck so before disembarking you had to go to the top of the ship, wait in line and then go down to the bottom of the ship to disembark.  Most cruise we have been on distribute the towels where the passengers disembark.

Overall a great cruise and because the ship is so nice and there is so much to do onboard, the ports of call became less important and we spent very little time on each port.

Would go on the Allure again in a heartbeat!

CruisenSteve's Tips

Allure of the Seas Allure of the Seas - Breaksfast in Main Dining Room gave the option of menu ordering or buffet. We love that! As long as you got to breakfast in the main dining room or WindJammer Restaurant before 9:00 AM there was little or no line. If you like soda, get the FreeStyle Coke Cup! We really enjoyed that!
