This was our 4th cruise on RCCL (Majesty, Monarch, & Splendour) We departed Indpls. on 2/24 and flew to Orlando and from there took a shuttle to Cocoa Beach where we spent Sat. at the Holiday Inn on the beach. Boarding the SOS was a breeze. We arrived around noon on Sunday and by 12:40 had already checked out our room and was headed for the embarkation buffet. Buffet was above average but salad dressings weren't marked. We left at 5 on Sunday and headed for Nassau. We took our 7 month old and our cabin steward Levorne made sure we had plenty of ice for his formula. One negative was no refrigerator in the cabin, which was a category D outside with a tub. The room had some nicks and scratches and was smaller than I expected after having outside categories on their other ships but they were a category or two lower. Service was terrific, both cabin and dining. Food was above average at best, not as much selection as other cruises and no after dinner "shots" were brought aroun to buy. We didn't get to see many shows but the kid programs looked very good and popular from the reactions of children involved. The casino stayed very busy. In Nassau we went to Blackbeards Cay which is a 30 minute boat ride to a beach. We enjoyed ourselves very much and also enjoyed Cococay, which was our second trip there. It has expanded alot since the last time there 2 1/2 yrs. ago. The day at Sea was very relaxing as usual and they had several pool games going, including a hot legs contest of MEN which was very funny. The disembarkment was very smooth. Off by 9:30 but had to wait about an hour on our Budget rent-a-car van to pick us up and take us to their location in Cocoa. Would recommend spending a couple of extra days and visiting the Kennedy Space Center.
