Carnival Fascination
Sail date: February 01, 2007
The vacation I was looking for
I thought the "Fascination" was an average ship and the $6 million of renovations that were advertised was not evident. There seemed to be a lot of things "temporarily out of service" yet they were not functioning at all during the entire 5 days of the cruise. Examples are the frozen yogurt machine, one of the hot tubs and water/ice makers. Our stateroom was cozy - we were looking for a vacation with good weather and didn't want to be in the room much at all except for sleeping so the accomdations more than suited our needs. However, we did expect to have a queen bed and one pull out but instead ended up with 3 single beds. This was disappointing but we adjusted. The food was plentiful but the quality wasn't as great as I had hoped. The variety could have been a little better as well. A suggestion would be to have some snacks available - i.e. pretzels etc. The service staff was great - I have absolutely no complaints. They were all very attentive and polite.
