August 2015 - Norwegian Epic to Europe - Western Mediterranean
Check in (Roma) was a breeze then we took a loonngg walk to the ship. Nice ship. Once you get over the bathroom configuration in the cabin, it's pretty comfortable. We had a balcony room which we barely used, to be honest.
The ship was at full capacity, which was only noticeable during pool time when it was difficult to find seats on deck 15 to relax by the tiny pools. One of the minuses - tiny pools, slides take up most of the space. The slides were fun for my 11 year old, but he got tired of them after day three. Otherwise, there were no issues with dining space.
We booked excursions at nearly all the destinations (but for Majorca) which all started too early (7:15 - 7:30am start times). I understand that we have to fit a 7 to 9 hour tour in before the ship leaves port, but these early start times make for cranky vacationers! Overall, the quality of the guides was excellent.
I'm not sure I'd do this cruise again as we spent too little time in each port. That said, this cruise was a good way to get a glimpse of the cities to determine where to spend more time in these historically and culturally rich destinations.
