April 2016 - 4 Night Catalina & Baja Mexico (Los Angeles Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Imagination
OK for First Timers....
EZ check -in....Fast and efficient. Cabin prepared and clean. Helpful staff ...ready to serve. However, loud music everywhere, busy bars and a major effort to make you feel that your at a big party!! Many passengers seemed to enjoy the effort, but if you are looking for a quiet first night sail-away, this isn't for you. The emphasis is on drinking and making this a "Fun Ship".
Service at bars and restaurants is darn good, but the food itself is just "OK". If you've traveled on other ships, you'll note the difference in quality and presentation. Again, it's "OK", but it all pales in comparison to virtually every other ship I've sailed on...which includes more than 35 different cruise itineraries.
In total, I guess you get what you pay for. The ship itself is in need of updating; the entertainment was passable; the food was just OK and no, I wouldn't return. Too many other cruise lines provide a far better experience to their customers. Best to skip this ship and try another.
