May 2014 - Celebrity Equinox to Europe - Mediterranean
We enjoyed our Barcelona to Venice cruise more than words can express. This was our first Celebrity Equinox Cruise and will always have wonderful memories of the beautiful, sparkling clean ship, the excellent service and friendliness of all the staff. The dining room was elegant and were happy to have "dining anytime" so we were not rushed after returning from our land tours. The food was excellent and we enjoyed many dinners sharing a table with "new" friends. The Tuscan Grill Specialty Restaurant was a treat as we were able to watch the sunset and enjoy a great dinner. Our balcony cabin was larger than cabins on previous cruises with storage galore and was well attended by the cabin steward.
Our favorite areas of the ship were Cafe Al Bacio, (excellent coffees), the Bistro on Five (had delicious crepes) Gellato Bar (late night snacks) and the smoothie bar on the open deck (afternoon treat while relaxing by the pool). We did not take advantage of the theatre entertainment except for the guest acts. The weather was perfect everyday and wished we could have stayed longer.
Our land tours were mostly very good through the Celebrity Shore Excursions. Our favorite port was Mykonos, Greece. A beautiful island with white buildings, clear blue water and friendly people. Many of the other ports we visited and inland roads were very crowded, but our guides were good. Our tour of the Tuscan Countryside in Livorno (in place of Florence )was fantastic and loved our lunch and wine tasting at Tenuta Torciano Winery with a humorous host who kept us entertained. Beautiful countryside scenery. San Gianano was also a favorite on this tour.
I could go on and on but to conclude, we would certainly take another Celebrity Cruise!
