The experience on the ship was amazing the cruise director Matt was the best!! Our Steward Rai was the best we could ever ask for. Although this was an older ship it didn't matter since the everyday experience and people were so welcoming. The only hiccup we had was in ocho rios where we were harassed the whole day by locals constantly not taking no for an answer. Other then that we have already booked our next cruise with you guys!!!

Carnival does not disappoint

Carnival's food was good, people were GREAT.  Bartenders have an attitude as a whole in all the bars - don't know why?  The food servers, chefs, etc are willing to please and smile.  We had an usual situation with the remodel of the ship Sensation.  There were trying to paint while we were on our cruise.  It is heavy duty outdoor ship paint - very toxic = burned the nose and ran people our of different areas.  Why would they do that?   If you could put the painting aside, it was good and I would sail Carnival again after I check and make sure they will not be remodeling while we are on the ship!

Ochoa Rios

Entertainment is the best part of the cruise. I feel like I get my monies worth. The beach trip to Bamboo beach in Ochoa Rios was fun but we were cut short. The excursion was suppose to be 4 hours. The tour guides told us it was time to go in 2 1/2 hours. Not sure if it was planned that way so we could spend money at the straw market at the port but we were annoyed. Not to mention we were reminded several times about tipping.

When we got back to the port the locals were extremely pushy and did a lot of haggling to buy their goods of which most of it was the same for them all. They need to figure out a way to differentiate themselves as they all have the same items. Based on the constant haggling I refused to buy anything from anyone b/c I dont like the added pressure of how to spend my money. Although we  had fun it was disappointing b/c I expected to be on the beach 4 hours as indicated NOT 2/1/2. We got back on the ship at 3:10pm when the ship didn't leave out until 430-5.

Also, security need to be more visible at night. There were more smokers on this ship than any other time I have cruised. Most were coming on the sides of the boat at night smoking & several times there were teens who were smoking marijuana and no staff was to be seen. Smoking whether cigarettes, cigars or marijuana went on for the duration of the cruise.

Please note smokers are not a reflection of the Cruise line. I had an amazing time so no fault no foul with Carnival. I am just stating what they clearly are unaware of. As far as the excursion that is something that needs to be addressed with that vendor.

Not bad

Matt the cruise director was awesome! He was very enthusiastic and kept us informed of all events happening onboard. I never met my cabin steward, which was disappointing. The ship is a bit old compared to Carnival Victory, which I was on in 2015. The rooms need to be updated.

Good start poor finish,

Cruise started off great, great food, great service. Very poor ending from about midway. The cruiseship does not honor their "prepaid beverage packages" when on their island, the bbq lunch was TERRIBLE including large servings of under cooked burgers. The dinner in the dining room on the last nuight was ABYSMAL and the disembarkment process was so poor it had to be "shut down" AS THERE WAS ALMOST A RIOT AS PASSENGERS WERE FRUSTRATED AND ANGRY TO GET OFF THE SHIP.

First time cruisers and loved it!

This was our first cruise and went with the Sensation because of the water park for my kids. For being an older ships the activities and things to do kept us busy for the entire trip. Our cruse director, Mat did a phenomenal job keeping the guests entertained throughout the day and into the evening. We were so bummed on the last day because we enjoyed it so much. We already booked another cruise on the Carnival Vista for next year. If you're a first timer and want to see if cruising is for you, the Sensation is the way to go. Bon Voyage!

We had a FANTASTIC time! Overall, the customer service was delightful, the food was delicious, and the entertainment was hilarious and enjoyable. I must give a special compliment to Arturo. I apologize for not knowing his exact job title, but he was the gentlemen assigned to clean our room. He had such a down to earth personality and was great at his job. He remembered our names so quickly and he took special care to acknowledge our honeymoon. He carried himself very professional and seemed to be a supervisor or team leader. He deserves 5 starts for sure! Lastly, we truly enjoyed our honeymoon on the Sensation. We literally felt right at home. We're looking forward to sailing with Carnival Sensation in the future with our children.
