Great weather, great excursions at Nassau and Grand Turk...The only criticism is that the shows all started after 9...we are early risers and do not stay up to go to shows at 1045 and 11

AMAZING

I knew already, I was going to have a good cruise, but what made it amazing was cruise director kabir.  Kabir have great energy, great entertainer, very funny and dance move on point. Overall Kabir kept you wanted to party all night. This trip meant a lot to me because I took my 3 girls on this cruise, they loved every moment of the trip.

I like the fact that from the time you wake up until the time you go to bed there is  something was schedule to attend or do. Whether it was free event or it cost money there was always something going on.

Not a fan!!

The cruise was ok. My husband and I wasn't impressed. This is our second cruise. I won't mention the other cruise name. We had decided after the first cruise that we wouldn't take another cruise. People kept telling us that Carnival was so great. Um, we didn't see that. All these cruises are the same in some sort of way. After this cruise, we are definite about not cruising again. It's just not for us. We rather fly to the island(s).

The music/entertainment wasn't that great. The only thing we liked was the comedy show. Roman Murray was hilarious. I forgot the other comedian name (bald head guy), he was funny as well. The food was ok. The ship is old. It need to be updated. The housekeeper we had was great. The ship crew were great. We had a great time on the islands.

Suggestion: incorporate smooth jazz each night.

Old Ship Fun Time

The Carnival Sensation ship is one of the older ones, and doesn't have many of the new features. The elevators were not working for most of the cruise. Having said that, there was plenty of relaxing, good food, and friendly staff to make it a memorable cruise. I would suggest investigating the ship's amenities before booking. We did a shore excursion in both Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman and are glad we went through the companies on Carnival's website.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica and Grand Cayman were beautiful places that I was thankful to have an opportunity to visit. The transportation vehicle to get there was a bit lacking for what I expect in a cruise line.  Reservations for check in were made to check in at 11:30-12:00 pm.  I thought there were only so many allowed to choose this time but apparently I was wrong because upon my early arrival at 11:15 there were already well over 400 passengers filling the terminal waiting to get onto the ship.  No problem, we were excited and ready to get the party started.  Well, we were not allowed to board until 2 pm due to an elevator problem and then only those able to physically climb stairs were allowed to board.  We boarded the ship and had to hike the stairs up and down for the majority of the cruise.  Not one elevator down but more than half of them on the ship!! The elevators delayed our luggage delivery to our stateroom till 8 pm and we had to attend our seated dinner scheduled  @ 6 pm,  in our regular clothes with out a shower or even a brush of our hair.  Although I have no major physical limitations I have a bad knee that is waiting medical testing and has had past surgery and caused me a great deal of pain climbing up and down the stairs. Going from level 4 to level 8-9-10 is quite a hike. We were told the elevators would be repaired by the morning ,however it was not until the last day of our cruise that they functioned however there was still notices posted that they were not working.  By this time many were willing to take the chance just to get a lift.

Many were upset about the elevator problem and there was never a mention of even a free cocktail or maybe a picture (so many they toss into the garbage) to help make up for the inconvenience. Upon disembarkation to our ports, especially at the second port Grand Caymen, something must have happened at the lower level because the stench was incredible and by evening they were bringing out fans to dry carpet and wiping down areas with disinfectant.  It covered a huge area and people were really becoming disappointed in how this cruise was panning out for them.  I was traveling with my daughter who is underage and could only attend some shows.  I was surprised that the evening shows started so late 10:15 and that there was not as much to do with her in the evening.  No problem we made due.  Food...Now it has been awhile since I have traveled on a cruise ship and I understand they have a lot of people to feed but the food has decreased in quality for sure.  The website makes you think you have 18 different options to choose from for meals but honestly at lunch time you can get hot with the rest of the party people on the lido deck for burgers or tacos (not bad) or you can get the buffet just within the ship and average meal.  No other options unless you want to enjoy your mean in your room via room service and that is only free if you don't want a hot meal.  This really sucks when you come back from port, hot and tired and want to eat but there a major line on the lido deck and you just want to cool off inside.  Cruises use to be different and at least dinner menu's had a little more to choose from and seemed to be better quality. I don't want a trough of food like Golden Corral for my cruise but a smaller quality meal would be nice or the option to have a sit down at lunch.  The fact that they charge you for every soda etc but don't give a budge when they are not on point kinda irritates me.  As far as the shows goes, we love the karaoke and trivia also the craft a sea was a fun thing to do with your older child or even alone and many did not attend.

Elevators not working since embarkation to almost the end of the cruise- quite an inconvenience. The variety of activities is very good.  Customer service not the best, when calling from my stateroom had to wait on average 10 minutes before speaking to a customer service representative.  Furthermore, my charge account was not credited with the $50.00 on board credit offered at time of booking with .  Did not request credit with customer service because of waiting time and line was too long.  Vacation is for relaxing and having fun, not for standing in line to potentially receive comments on credit restrictions.

Carnival Sensation - Key West & Cozumel

LoveThe highlight of our trip was being chosen to go into the kitchen and taste test for the the chief chef. We had looked over the menu and thought we had made a good decision but we all changed our orders once we tasted other things. Many good dishes that were not as eloquently described compared to the wonderful tastes.

This ship does take a bit of planning to get around since the floors around the dining rooms do not go straight through, requiring going up or down and then returning the the desired floor on the other end of the ship.

Staff were pleasant and met our needs plus. We were saddened when Roland had to leave abruptly to go home to his ill mother. We wish them the best. We did get another waiter but did not get to tip Roland so we hope to run into him again in the future.

Three of the seven in our group had never cruised before and they enjoyed themselves very much.  For others in the group that have cruised on larger, newer ships you could tell that the ship was in need of updating, a good through cleaning and upgrading the entertainment.  This was the first time that I cruised that the cabin wasn't serviced twice a day, we were always running out of fresh towels and housekeeping on break all afternoon.  We all enjoyed the dining room experience, had great servers!  The magician was fun.

The cruise director was amazing. However, the shows were horrible. The singers sounded awful. It was not very entertaining. The guest were walking out shortly after the show begin. MY food was cold majority of the time and it took 3 hours or more to complete dinner. They were very slow. I have been on several cruises, this  was by far the worst. I guess I had high expectations and compared it to my previous cruises. This was not a great experience.

I read many negative reviews prior to my cruise but I was determined to enjoy it. I purchased faster to fun and from the moment we embarked to the time we left the ship, everything was excellent, including the food and entertainment. The staff was amazing. I especially wanted to mention a couple of staff members who made this so enjoyable. The cruise director- Kabir, the waiters- Gonsalo and Clifford, the room steward - Zainul, and the crazy, fun comedians - Brad and Mark. Thank you so much carnival sensation staff for a memorable vacation.

Big Smile

Bring a Power Strip (surge protector) - You'll probably only have a single 110v outlet in your cabin, bringing a power strip will allow you to charge multiple phones or laptops. *Note: Check with your cruise line if you have questions about what electrical devices are permitted.
