Too many kids in the pool all the time and in late evening hours activities

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: Apr 03, 2014

The pool should be two....one for the kids and one for the adult. Activities especially after 10 pm should not include kids. Singing contests should be one for the children and one for the adult.

Wonderful Time!

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: Mar 30, 2014

My boyfriend and I were able to experience the Carnival Sensation on a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas. We had a wonderful experience. The service was fantastic, the food was amazing, and the entertainment was great!! We will definitely be going on more cruises in the future through Carnival.

I highly recommend this ship!  It was a great family vacation.  Everyone made sure to call you by name and make sure you were taken care of.  Everything was clean and the wait staff at dinner was amazing!  i would definetly do this again

Wonderful Time on the Sensation

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: Mar 30, 2014

I cannot say enough about the service and hospitality that the entire crew of the Sensation provides.  I had a great time and I cannot wait to sail again.  Our room steward Joseph was wonderful! So friendly and called us by name whenever he saw us, how he could remember was beyond me.  So many activities on board and their was always room to layout.

In Freeport we visited the Junkanoo Beach Club - $5.00 for a chair and no fee for the beach!  Cab ride roundtrip was $14 pp,  it was clean and the staff was great. The restaurant/beach club building also has free Wi-Fi!

Nassau straw market was the place to shop!! This is the 2nd stop so don't spend all your money before you get there,  they will make great deals- don't pay the original asking price!  Both the Straw Market and a free beach (also called Junkanoo) is in walking distance - no need for a cab.

This was my first cruise and I was blown away by the customer service that Carnival provided.  I cannot wait to go again.

I booked my airfare along with the cruise,  the rates were better than any I could find.

So what are you waiting for??? Start planning!!

4day cruise to Bahamas

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: Mar 30, 2014

We took our granddaughter on cruise for her last spring break as a high schooler.  We had a great time. The show time in the dining room by the staff was a lot of fun.  Always good food available.  Room was always tidy and shows were good.

NEVER CRUISE sensation!!!!!

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: Mar 27, 2014

First off let me start off by saying this was our 1st cruise and there was 7 of us that went. Our room was not as clean as it should have been. The hand held shower was NASTY!! The bed sheets didn't look or feel clean! The guy who cleaned our room was friendly, but could have done a better job on cleaning! We stayed on deck 7 and the whole trip it smelled like a sewer!!!!! The food wasn't that great. I think that if you are a teenager and a party person this could be a ship for you! NOT FOR KIDS SHIP!! They had a arcade, but it wasnt that big maybe 6 games that we had to swipe our room card and it charged us $1.00 to $1.50 every game! This isn't what we had in mind at all!! Also can coke where $2.25 per can!!!!! Please make sure you check the reviews on this cruise line before spending a lot of money!!!!! Angry

First Time Cruise

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: Mar 23, 2014

For a first time cruise, this was probably a good one, but I have nothing to compare it to other than what other experienced cruisers have told me.  I had a good time.  The food was ok and definitely plentiful.  The boat was nice but dated.  There were fun things to do on the boat.  I was mainly disappointed in the excursion help on the boat...well, help may be the wrong word.  I found James from South Africa to be in need of PR training.  He was starchy and pushy, wanting us to book quickly because the excursions "fill up fast."  True, that happens, but he was also misleading in what was offered on the first excursion we wanted to go on.  We were interested in snorkling.  He sent us to a beach where he said we could catch a boat to go out further into the water to coral reefs.  We got to the beach to find out that wasn't true.  However, our room steward made up for the rude treatment.  Habibii was very kind, always called us by name, and kept our room nice and neat.  I slept peacefully EVERY night and woke up refreshed, which I hardly ever feel at home. That was the best part of the vacation. I would not go back to the Bahamas.  The islands were not the tropical paradise I was hoping to see.  The people were kind, and the water was beautiful, but I was thankful for home and disappointed at the accessibility of the beaches.  The islands were party places.  Overall, my advice to other first time cruisers would be to do your research.  You just might find that another cruiseline fits your needs better.

Good, but not for me

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: Mar 16, 2014

Was good, but wouldn't do it again. Ship was small and hit every wave. Got "a touch" of sea sickness. Water was very choppy which wasn't the ships fault, but felt if the ship was bigger, would have been a more smoother ride.  For dinner service, passengers were assigned to eat from only one out of the 2 main dining rooms. No restaurants on board. The lunch buffet at Seaview Grill closed too early in the afternoon and never remained open for dinner (as an alternative to the main dining room). Could only get pizza or cold subs after the buffet closed until the next day in the afternoon. Couldn't buy an alcohol package. Would have liked to stay at Nassau a little longer than 4:30p to partake in some of the island's evening festivities. The staff on board were very nice and offered excellent customer service. Entertainment was okay, some shows were better than others. They only offered Laser tag during the day when the ship was ported. Why would I stay on the ship to play Laser tag when I can explore the island and only have 8 hours to do so? Had two comedians: one was really funny, the other sucked very bad. Would consider trying Royal Caribbean or a much larger Carnival Cruise ship with more amenities.

Wonderful 1st cruise

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: Mar 13, 2014

With no previous expectations, my wife and I were extremely pleased with our experience.  Our stateroom was exactly as pictured and promised.  Joseph was excellent, anticipating our every need.  The only thing that we would have liked to have had was 110 voltage in the bathroom so my wife could have used the hair dryer there instead of having to perform all her duties in the living quarters.  Other than that, it was an excellent first experience.Happy

Bigger pool needed!

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: Mar 02, 2014

The one and only pool on the ship was way too small for the amount of people the ship holds. The photos for purchase are very expensive. Would have bought more had they been more reasonably priced. The food was very good. Love those ice cream cones! Room space was adequate. Room service nice. Nice gym.

Tips for Carnival Sensation

use the stairs whenever possible so you can eat as much food as you like and try something new.

Bring a Power Strip (surge protector) - You'll probably only have a single 110v outlet in your cabin, bringing a power strip will allow you to charge multiple phones or laptops. *Note: Check with your cruise line if you have questions about what electrical devices are permitted.

The dining room was empty at lunch time. It was quiet and relaxing.

We had a balcony stateroom on the very back of the ship just under the Serenity deck (21 and over only). Nice and quiet part of the ship! Also convenient to food. Short flight of inside stairs to get to dinner, and then 2 short flights of stairs on the outside to get to the buffet area.

Lido deck is definitely the best place to eat breakfast. Lines may be a little longer but they have a bigger variety of food.

The adults only section is not on ship's maps. Find it far forward though the bar on deck 9.

If you want room service on port days put the slip on the door the night before.

Read your daily activity schedule and participate in the activities. The shows are worth seeing, very good entertainment. Eat in the dining room for a chance to sample exotic foods.

The hang-out spot "Serenity" was a great local to relax and get away from the crowds.

The people at the pool bar was really nice the whole cruise. They were fun and even though they weren't American they were at ease and were very outgoing, they played around with my husband and made his trip fun

learn the ship layout {take a map] and when you get your itinerary for each day[ the steward will put it on the desk daily] mark the times you wan to go where, and consider dinner, lunch can be be done whenever.

Breakfast on the lido deck was the best. But lunch not so much.

Go to the Fantasia dining room for breakfast & lunch. Their food was great and NOT greasy like the Lido.

If you want a spot on the "adults only" sun deck you have to get there early.

Breakfast was the best meal of the day.

best meals where the ones in the dinning halls, the lines for the buffets were too long, and food was of low quality.

If you get sea sick easily - BRING SEASICK MEDICINE! These class of Carnival Ships do not have stablizers like the bigger Carnival Ships have so expect a lot of rocking!

Get to the comedy shows a little early; they fill up fast.

bring your bathing suit in a carry on or wear it so you can enjoy the pool while everyone is still boarding.

If you want to visit the islands do it early. There is no lines for breakfast and no wait to leave the ship
