Worst Cruise Line Ever

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: Jun 26, 2014

I would not recommend ever going on the carnival cruise line. They have ZERO customer service and our room was flooded and they did not move our room. They kept us in the molding disgusting room and we did not receive compensation. ROYAL CARRIBEAN IS THE BEST CRUISE LINE TO GO ON!!! save yourself from an awful experience!

Not a family friendly boat by any means

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: May 01, 2014

The first impressions of the boat were not good, it smelled bad (of a dirty ashtray) and that the decore is way out of date. The only thing we did like was the dine any time and we chosse to stay with the same waiter, Gregory. He very much impressed us and took care of us in every way. He was friendly with our boys and knew what we liked. He also had us try new things.

I would not recommed this boat for any family, as it is not the greatest seeing the drunk side of every one and the fact that they could carry booze every where they walked. The smell of the boat was bad, the rooms very outdated (but the cleaning staff was great) .

When we got on the the boat they offered a 75 min spa treatment for the the price of 55  min.... Wrong my husband and I have had a very bad winter and were looking forward to this... well it ended up being 50 min and when we told the girls they said that they would have us come back ... really who wants to wake up early to do this! I talked to guest services and they did nothting about it and had the spa manger try to call us... really what were we suppose to do wait in our room all eveing for the call?! they did not call and we did not get our 400 dollars back. It was a huge let down and disappointment on thier behalf to us. The food was all the same even though you had different places you could eat it was just served differently to look different but it was the same! another let down.

the pizza and sandwich area was the only great place and those guys were great.

The evening adult show was awlful... who really wants to hear about some one elses blow job!!!!!

Not a good experice over all and would not ever go on Carnival every again!

Proceed with caution

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: May 25, 2014

This was our first cruise and overall it was a good one.  BUT....After we boarded the 1st day, we booked a massage for my fiance & me as it was on sale and it sounded like a good deal.  While the massage itself was very nice & relaxing, what followed it ultimately all but ruined our vacation.  In a nutshell, they tried to sell us extremely expensive products that were not complimentary to the massage.  I asked my masseuse if they were included in the massage and she said no, at which point I said that in that case I didn't want them.  She handed me a bag with three items and tried billing me for them anyway.  I asked her to return the items as I didn't want them.  She then returned two and tried to make me buy the 3rd item (a jar of sea salt scrub for $58!) and I then insisted that no I didn't want it & made her return it as well.  She was clearly not pleased.  My fiance's masseuse never explained to him that the product was not complimentary, so he unwittingly paid $240 on top of the massage itself and was under the impression that was the total for both product *and* massage.  We only figured that out upon checking our Sail & Sign account, at which point we immediately returned the products.  All of the above caused a series of billing errors to our Sail & Sign account which then caused an overdraft on my Visa check card.  I was not aware of the overdraft until we got off the boat in Nassau and tried to withdraw money from an atm & the transaction was denied, which then of course ruined our entire day on the island as we had to get back on the boat.  We had been told we wouldn't have to pay anything until the end of the cruise, so I truly do not appreciate that our funds were compromised during the course of the trip.  Eventually, all of our charges were worked out, but by that time we were heading back to Port Canaveral.  We didn't get off the boat in Freeport because we thought we were going to get to do things in Nassau the next day, which obviously didn't happen.  So basically, we didn't get to go anywhere or do anything and it put a huge damper on our entire vacation.  Everything else on the cruise was excellent, but I can't help feeling like we got the short end of the stick.  I would recommend this cruise, but be cautious of their spa services.

Anniversary Cruise

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: Jun 29, 2014

I had been on this cruise twice before both in January of different years with great reviews. This cruise was very unremarkable. The shows were the exact same as the previous years (yes the same as 5 years ago)! There were always a ton of children running unsupervised all over the ship.  The food seemed to be very tasteless.  There weren't as many fun things to do especially on the "at sea" day. The excursions were over priced and drawn out.   Our steward though was excellent. Very polite and sweet.  If we do take another cruise it will be with a different cruise line. Might just do all inclusive resorts though from now on.

Unsatisfied trip

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: Jun 08, 2014

Unfortunately our group was unsatisfied with our recent trip. The staff and personnel on the cruise ship were rude and unhelpful with regard to our elder travelers. Also, the ship accomodations were not clean. We continuously had to deal with unsupervised children running around ship, playing on elevators and running up and down stateroom halls all through the night. Very disturbing! We did not get to enjoy any of the ship ammenities due to out of control children and lack of space and availability. I will not recommend this ship to anyone for future travel. We would have been better off staying home and putting the cost of this trip somewhere else.
