BEST

Staff was very polite and friendly especially Putu and the rest of the bar crews. Dinner was great. Service was excellent. Could not ask for better. I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone for a short getaway.

enjoyed our cruise

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date:

overall we did enjoy our cruise to Bahamas, and enjoyed all the food venues.

Our cabin was very well maintained and comfy.

it was a very clean ship.

Only one thing to improve was the entertainment, we love dancing 70`s to the 90`s but found only one establishment for that and then was very long.

Great!

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date:

We had a great time. The service was wonderful! Thank you!!! We will be back!

It was my husbands first cruise and my second. The comedy was so funny. Karaoke was great.

The only thing I dod not like was all the smoking. I wanted to go to the casino but it made it so tough fo rme to even walk by it. Very bad and poorly ventilated or something.

Food was delicious. Staff was second to none!! Best part was the service!

Smooth Cruise

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date:

Since this was a first cruise, we weren't certain what to expect. Of course, we had heard a lot of comments from friends and family both positive and negative, but we were pleasantly surprised. We met a number of loyal Carnival cruisers, friendly staff, and other passengers who shared our enthusiasm on the trip. Granted, we were fortunate to have lovely weather and calm seas, so no sea-sickness, which had been a worry. We especially enjoyed our conversations at open seating dining with other passengers, and the food  and staff in Fantasy Dining room was excellent. One negative would be the smoke environment in the Casino. For a non-smoker, it was thick and uncomfortable to the extent that it actually felt like we couldn't breathe. Obviously, we didn't spend a lot of time in there or the bar outside of the casino, which did have some decent music at night. However, we chose to listen to karaoke to escape the smoke.

Smoking, Over Charges, bad food and service

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date:

First, I do not know what happen.   I booked the same cruise last July, and noticed a big difference.  First, smoking everywhere.   They allowed smoking in the casino, which is ok, but also, they allowed in the disco, and other bar areas.   The smoke was so bad that I felt I could not take it.   My eyes were burning.   Second, the service was extremely poor.   The bar tenders were rude, and servers were extremely unfriendly.  Felt like I was bothering them.  The biggest problem was the over charging.   I left the cruise with a bill of charges I did not make.   I waited in line at their poor customer service line, to try and get back some of the charges for buckets of beer I did not make.  I still have an $20 dollar balance to dispute.  I ordered there vodka for $75 online; to learn I have purchased it on the cruise for $22.   What a rip off for online purchases.  I will never go a cruise with Canaveral.   Poor service,  over charges, food sucked, and smoke everywhere.

Budget cruise

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date:

I had planned a 4 day get away to celebrate my boyfriends 50th birthday. We were so excited to have a few days to ourselves. He had not been on a vacation for 8 years. Upon arrival we were herded onto the boat and given a buffet that tasted like day old cafeteria food. It was cold/ bad weather and the ship had no heat, anywhere. It was freezing.  From there we went into our room where two single mattresses were pushed together. This would have been fine except they came apart so easily and there was this huge gap in the middle of the bed every night.

As as I stated earlier it was my boyfriends birthday. Not a piece of cake. Not a happy birthday, nothing. Oh yes, except for two gift cards to the spa that were unusable as they were expired or under value.

So i spent approximately 1000$ to freeze for a weekend, sleep poorly and eat mediocre food. Yay

ok

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date:

The cruise was "OK". The weather was horrible, so maybe that has a lot to do with my "ok" rating. The food was "ok". Entertainment was "ok". The comfort level of the room was "good".... clean, soft bed & linens. The drinks were tooooo expensive & the drink package was a rip off. I think they nickeled and dimed you for every little extra thing (toothpaste, lotion).

It was a great cruise except for the smoking in several open lounges.

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date:

It was wonderful except for the smoking areas on leave 9 was open. It smelled horrible. The food was good and the ship was clean! Since it was cold we couldn't do anything outside because of the weather. 3 days was too short. We took our grandkids so that's why it was a short one. We also visited Disney World while we were in Florida.

All good except the weather

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date:

The food was very good you won't go hungry. The 24 hour pizza is made right as you order it so it doesn't sit there. The staff was very nice and helpful. The karaoke Lounge was a hit with the kids and then after a few hours it was just adults so the adults could have fun as well. The drinks were a little on the expensive side on the poolside anywhere from 13 to $15 A vodka cranberry was more like seven or eight dollars. We had fun with the photo shoots that they had set up on the ship but we're also pretty expensive $22 a shot to pay for the photo we opted to not get any but they touch them up so good it was like a glamour shot photo. The Bahamas has expensive food right off the port we didn't go much further past the little private beach but we did find a lot of glass so wear shoes the restaurants were pretty expensive like $18 for a salad $20 for chicken sandwich and fries we opted to get a little snack and then ate on the boat when we got back on at around 6 you can barter for shirts seashells necklaces anything you can imagine. The only downfall Was the weather it was very windy an average temperature even in the Bahamas was sixties when we returned to Port Canaveral it was 38 degrees that morning! We are from Minnesota so my boys still loved the water slide and the pool but it was not used hardly by anyone else on the ship. The only other thing I didn't care for was they allowed smoking in the casino area so anytime you were even close to that area it smelled terrible. We made it to 1 family comedy show and that was pretty good didn't make it to any adult ones we opted for the karaoke time for the kids I did ask multiple people if the timing of the cruise being that it was in January that we went and they said last week it was 87 degrees that it was just a fluke. But if you want to guarantee hot weather stick 2 more after April or May because that was a huge disappointment. But the food was delicious the staff is very nice this ship was older than not raggedy.

Surprise!

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date:

Main problem was that although we have booked your ship on many softball cruises we were not notified ahead of time regarding the ban of softball bats on board. Other options could have been arranged if we had more notice even if just a few days.

Also disappointed that there was no lobster night and would have to pay extra if we wanted that. I have been on 15 cruises and always looked forward to enjoying that.

"Showtime" every night in the dining room is a bit much. Once or twice would be enough.

Other than that my cruise experience was enjoyable. Appreciate Carnival for the value you usually get for an affordable price. Already booked with my son and his family for a cruise in July on the Magic.
