Crusing the Panama Canal

Ship: Vision of the Seas
Sail Date: Apr 02, 2013

The cruise was excellent with cruising days alternating with port days. The transit through the Panama Canal was outstanding with dialogue throughout the transit explaining the functioning of the canal, the locks, and the lakes. Prior to starting our transit, there was an excellent introduction to the transit of the canal.

Needed Help

Ship: Vision of the Seas
Sail Date: Apr 02, 2013

We were having a great time on the Vision of the Seas Panama Canal Cruise when we were notified that my mother had died. Being on an excursion in Costa Rica at the time, we were at a bit of a loss as to what we needed to do to be able to get home. When we arrived back at the boat I started packing and my husband went to the Customer Service desk to get some help. A young lady named Eroma helped us to arrange transportation to Liberia, Costa Rica and get a hotel for the night. She could not have been more helpful or understanding of our situation. She was very calm and knew just what to do. She allowed us to use the internet to arrange air flight and also a couple of phone calls back home to let relatives know we were on our way. The cruise ship was excellent before this with great service from our cabin steward and Dorothy in the dining room. The food was great and although we had a table for 4, we met many neat people while dining in the evening as well as breakfast in the d...

Ship: Vision of the Seas
Sail Date: Feb 25, 2013

Food was not the best but our waiter was. Seems food had deteriorated as far as cost but we did have the best waiter possible. Aside from having Norvirus on the ship all was well. The staff ,even the band and dancers etc jumped in to be sure the ship was cleaned constantly. Even the food at the Windjammer was served to us rather than picking out our own selections. Ports of call are interesting but you best book a tour if you want to see anything other than stores Loved our Captain. He joined in many functions....quite different than other captains

The BEST and the WORST cruise we have been on

Ship: Vision of the Seas
Sail Date: Feb 15, 2013

It was the BEST cruise we have had in our 10 cruises..ports-of-call were great..Tortola, St. Martin, Martinique, Antigua and St. Croix...met great people at our dinner table and will now be friends for life... Food was pretty good, but lacked seasoning, so I would rate it as GOOD.. It was the WORST cruise we have had also...Cruises.com booked our room on Deck 2 (which I requested) and it was right above the door-dock gangplank that people got off at the ports, and the crew started banging things around anywhere between 4:22am-6:30am..the banging sometimes sounded like a jackhammer for 30 minutes, so we could not go back to sleep those 6 mornings....we are from the West Coast, so that made it 1:22am-3:30am our time,...SO, we had little sleep for 6 out of the 10 nights we were on the cruise!!...Sleep Deprivation is not the way we wanted to spend our 25 year Anniversary and it was miserable!!

Deck Plans for Vision of the Seas

Tips for Vision of the Seas

The Diamond Plus breakfast dining room was excellent!

go to the breakfast bar in the main dinning room. a great indoor pool

Excellent dining room service both for the evening meals and breakfast.

The dinning room for meals I liked for the peacefulness. The lunch chopped salad was excellent

Dining room at 6:00 p.m. very crowded and rushed.

Don't worry about trying to get a window table at dinner because you will not be able to see much.

DO NOT EVER GET ROOM 2594 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SMILE AND THEY WILL BEND OVER BACKWARDS FOR YOU

Overall it was a very good cruise.
