another satisfied Cunard customer

Ship: Queen Mary 2
Sail Date: Nov 20, 2012

Having cruised the Caribbean on NCL and the Mediterranean on Costa, this cross Atlantic cruise was an amazing journey. The class of this ship is every where: classy diners and balls, informative lectures, the movies in the planetarium and amazing food. We appreciated the well appointed large library located on the bow of the ship (8th deck) with comfortable armchairs and large windows providing beautiful vistas. This a ship for grow-ups.

Why Fly Home?

Ship: Queen Mary 2
Sail Date: Jun 10, 2012

You can be as busy or as lazy as you want. The entertainment and activities were great. Loved the watercolor class each day! And we loved the laundry!, After nine weeks traveling and lots of hand washing, our clothes needed a good wash, and it was free / even the laundry soap was complimentary. As a result, we came home with all clean clothes to put away. The beds and linens were yummy, afternoon tea is a must, and we loved all the specialty rooms hidden around the ship. Since the two of us always buy three seats on the plane, this was even cheaper than flying. We won't fly across the Atlantic again.

My title was not long enough

Ship: Queen Mary 2
Sail Date: Apr 26, 2012

HUGE The speakers were fantastic. Especially nice when we had only 1.5 hours of sun on this 7-day cruise. This I think helps explain why the trough (i.e. buffet) was so crowded because few people were out on deck.

Cunard could do better

Ship: Queen Mary 2
Sail Date: Dec 12, 2011

Food in main dining room was rather poor with only fair choices and portions were ridiculously small. The guy next to me ordered a pasta meal after he had finished his first entree. Service in buffet area poor. You had to get up to get a second cup of coffee.

Great July 4th Cruise

Ship: Queen Mary 2
Sail Date: Jul 01, 2011

This was our first trip on QM2. The Ship is beautiful as you would expect. The main dining room and other bars are well done and the passage ways are enormous through the the public areas of the ship. The entertainment was very good in the Royal Theatre and we sadly missed several shows. The Queen's Ballroom was excellent and provided dancing everynite. We did not visit the Illuminations shows or the special talks on the ship, but heard they were very good also. The dance band and vocalist was also very good. Service in the dining room was excellent and the food was very good to excellent. We ate in Todd English 1 nite and it too was very good with excellent service. We enjoyed dressing for dinner but understand that not everyone enjoys that aspect of this cruise liner. Although the ship was sold out, we never felt like there were many people on board since the ship and public rooms are so large. The ship caters to an older crowd as we saw few young couples or teenagers. Some toddlers...

What a wonderful gettaway!

Ship: Queen Mary 2

The Queen Mary 2 is the largest and most luxurious ocean liner in the world. This legendary liner had every amenity anyone could want. Queen Mary II Cruise

Ship: Queen Mary 2
Sail Date: May 22, 2008

Did not live up to our expectations. It seemed that they are understaffed in all areas, especially in the dining room. The menus were unimaginative and the food preparation was blah. The "steaks" served were of inferior quality meat. Our server had too many tables to attend to and barely had time to provide minimal attention. I never knew his name nor the name of his assistant. The immigration check-in process upon our return was chaotic. There was only one passageway for getting to, and departing from, the immigration check-in desks. Consequently, the crush of people entering and leaving caused some harsh word exchanges. A simple solution would have been to set a divider and post signs with directions and instructions.

A truly spectacular experience on the QM

Ship: Queen Mary 2
Sail Date: Dec 16, 2006

This was a truly amazing cruising experience. We had a fabulous suite with lots of room. There was ample closet space and the service of the butler was unbelievable. The Queens Grill restaurant was fantastic -- both the food and the service was superb. There were SO many different things to do on board. The nightclub was great - both the DJ and the great band. Although the planetarium was not in operation (technical difficulties) for the first few days, when we did get in to see a show, it was great. The shows aboard were great. We really enjoyed the Commodore Club.
