14 day Hawaiian Cruise

Ship: Golden Princess
Sail Date: Apr 10, 2013

After checking in we were sent off to wait for an hour before getting on the ship. The stop in Mexicor was really not long enough to do anything, and then it delayed in Honolulu by having to go through immigration. We didn't get off the ship until 11:30. The staterooms were very nice and clean. The TV remote had to be held up high to change channels or volume. There alwasys seemed to be bathrooms out of order around the ship, especially the womens room by the Vista lounge, A couple of the jacuzzis were also out of order for most of the cruise. The Scholarship at sea series was great. We reaaly enjoyed the talks by John (naturalist) and Elizabeth. The nightly entertainment was OK. I liked the first comedian, the magician, the pianist, the impressionist, and the floor shows were good. Some of the staff was always friendly but the majority of them just seemed to ignore you. I will probably not take another Princess cruise. This was my first, after traveling with Norwegian ...

dream vacation for the both of us

Ship: Golden Princess
Sail Date: Apr 10, 2013

this was a fabulos trip from beginning to end. Iteniary was great with exception of ensenada, with all the things going on in mexico, loved the 4 day crossing by sea to the islands, visiting each island for 4 days and then returning with 4 days crossing back. would maybe reccommend that the cruise line look into picking one of the islands to do an overnight so that passengers can get a day and night feel for the islands as there are so many things to see and do and you just dont seem to have enough time in port to do so. food and service on this ship were excellent both in horizon court and donatello restaurant. Played casino daily, and as with all ships very hard to win on slots, and tables, alwyays amazed at how those dealers can have those hot streaks that they do, know that players cant, entertainment in show room just so-so in comparison to other ships and cruise lines, not bad but could have been lot better, same old, same old comics, hypnotists, jugglers, etc. All in all a fanta...

Hawaii Cruise

Ship: Golden Princess
Sail Date: Apr 10, 2013

The cabin was very nice and the ship's personnel very helpful and friendly. Compared to a previous Norwegian cruise the cabin was better on Princess but the food was not as high quality, particularly at the buffet. I personally do not like having to dress for dinner and formal nights in particular. Norwegian's Freestyle dining is much more appealing and relaxing to me. I did enjoy the quality recent movies available to watch on the ship. Not as satisfied with the on board entertainment. Overall the cruise to Hawaii and back was satisfying.

14 day hawiian cruise

Ship: Golden Princess
Sail Date: Mar 13, 2013

Very nice ship, good service although crew was not very happy. Food could have included more "American style" dishes and a sandwich station. There was no non alcoholic option for the in room welcome champagne or for the celebration packages.

hawaii cruise

Ship: Golden Princess
Sail Date: Feb 27, 2013

We were very dissapointed on our cruise .The food at times was sub par as example Pork Chops were to tough to cut or chew some of the roast beef was also this way. Also it seemed that everything that you wanted to do cost extra even a simple cup of coffee on deck 5 had to go up to deck 14 to accomplish that task.If you want a good steak or Lobster you had to pay 25 dollars per person and that is not right. It seem princess is in the selling business instead of cruises.Entertainment was ok but to get from one show to another it was impossible to get there in time allowed between shows .When you got there all seating wes taken.

A Wonderful Break From The Cold Weather

Ship: Golden Princess
Sail Date: Feb 13, 2013

This is the first time we've escaped winter with a cruise. From the boarding to disembarkation, Princess took very good care of us. Our cabin was very efficient. I especially appreciated lots of hangers and plenty of drawer space. The small refrigerator is another nice feature. Fresh fruit in the room was nice for a light snack. We enjoyed the dining options. We had breakfast most mornings on the Horizon deck. While at sea, we took advantage of an English pub lunch which added some variety to our normal menus. We selected Anytime Dining. Even though we never made a reservation our wait time was less than 10 minutes. Food was presented well and quite tasty. Most of the shows were entertaining. We saw Lincoln and Argo as well as the Oscars. The folks who were in the sing and dance shows were terrific. The Hawaiian couple gave us insights into their culture as they entertained us. Princess offered a wide variety of shore excursions. Unfortunately Mother Nature did not ...

Deck Plans for Golden Princess

Tips for Golden Princess

this ship had many laundry areas but often wait time. Best time to go is at meal times do not think of washing night berfore cursie over. bring your own dryer sheets and washing powdwer. The pods are great to take. If not it can be costly to buy on board. the machine takes quarters $2 to wash $2 to dry. this was great dont have to pack alot

Get room service for continental breakfast every morning

the service was the best very clean very organized i liked all the hand cleaning

Lido deck had a great breakfast. Be sure to see the "movies under the stars" and the art auction.

On the aft of the ship setting very high ,is the Disco and during the day it has the best view , this was my first trip to Alaska

Mocha's in the International Bar are excellent.

breakfast very enjoyable in horizon court, however expect to have to wait for table in the horizon court itself, not pool area, but in horizon court. Cruise director Gavin Chandler great at his job, but Derrick so much better in my opinion

Don't eat at the buffet if you want good quality food.

Remember where you find the bathrooms, as they are hard to find when you need one.

go early on poo[ side deck so u grab ur lounge chair

do not try for coffee on deck 5 without paying for it

The internet service was slow - keep that in mind if you purchase time. Turn all cellular data off on your cell phone or you might get an outrageous roaming charge without touching your phone.
