Emerald Princess cruise to the Southern Carribean

Ship: Emerald Princess
Sail Date: Mar 07, 2013

Our cruise aboard the Emerald Princess was truly the best ever (for us). The attention paid us and others by the staff, the food...even the weather was amazing and we are grateful. Thank you.

OK, but not great

Ship: Emerald Princess
Sail Date: Feb 25, 2013

Several aspects of this cruise were good, namely: the room steward was extremely attentive; the cabin was well laid-out, everything on-board was organized. Now for the less than expected: the food, particularly the beef was not of great quality, this was even in the steak house where one paid extra; lots of items on the menu, but very few that on could say that was great; ordered Chilean sea bass one night and was served cod (I am a fisherman and yes, do know the difference); they closed the casino at 01:00 hours; the buffet style breakfast was not well organized and the placement of the various items changed daily; the price of the drinks on board was outrageous, $6.50 for a beer, 9.49 for a Margarita. This was my first and last Princess cruise, will choose one of the other lines in the future....

My experience on 10 day cruise

Ship: Emerald Princess
Sail Date: Feb 25, 2013

Very enjoyable. The casino was too much smoky, a couple of my friends got sick from the smoky room. Food was good but not great. Been on other princes cruises, food was much better. Staff was excellent, no comlaints there. Would definitely cruise with Princess again. Thank you. Barbara and John Kalkanajian

Perfect

Ship: Emerald Princess
Sail Date: Feb 15, 2013

Service from Princess employees is wonderful. Princess offers a lot of choices for guests with diverse interests. Our group of four was never bored. We enjoyed sharing what we had each found on board or did off the boat. Snorkeling was my main interest and Caribbean delivered for me.

best trip ever!!

Ship: Emerald Princess
Sail Date: Feb 15, 2013

Everything was wonderful, from the entertainment to the food. Thank you for a great vacation! only thing we would suggest is that the robes they provided were not very soft. They were kind of scratchy. Also, we thought it would be really fun if they had an excursion (on ship) where , when the ship was at port, where there would be a platform to be able to jump from the ship into the water. Maybe swing out on a rope and fall into the water. Just looked like fun.

A wonderful Exciting Cruise

Ship: Emerald Princess
Sail Date: Feb 05, 2013

We had a wonderful time aboard the Emerald Princess. The officers and crew are top notch. Captain Tony Draper does an excellent job as senior officer of the ship. All of the Wait staff and Stewards are extremely polite and attentive to your needs and will go the extra distance to see that everthing is to your individual liking.

Worst cruise ever!

Ship: Emerald Princess
Sail Date: Dec 27, 2012

My husband and I took his son and our 5 year old grandson on the Emerald Princess for their Eastern Caribbean New Year's Eve cruise. My husband and I have been on numerous cruises all over the world and many different lines. We ALWAYS book full suites/penthouses. We booked L107 Lido Deck for us and a second cabin nearby for the kids. Our first morning we woke to THUMPING, LAMPS SHAKING, TV SHAKING, BATHROOM DOOR SHAKING. It was our first morning and at sea. So we planned on a leisurely day waking up whenever we did. Who could sleep with all the racket. It was 7 AM (our time). Turns out our bedroom was directly under the treadmills. When we booked the cruise the web site indicated we werr under the spa which is quiet. I called the hotel desk immediately plus notified our steward. Our steward, Jeffrey, was wonderful. He brought his supervisor to our suite to hear the thumping. The supervisor, Sammy, contacted customer relations manager, Anthony Peixoto, who said he would see what he can ...

Emerald Princess - New Year's 2013

Ship: Emerald Princess
Sail Date: Dec 27, 2012

The crew was very friendly. Our steward Thawong was very helpful and did what ever he could to accommodate our kids and group. Waiters (Slobo and Wytold) in the Michelangelo anytime dining room were very attentive and friendly. The ship's welcome back party for past guests was a raffle and a movie showing of Princess' new ships. We then received a free drink ticket. In the past, we received unlimited drinks with food, music and dancing. The theater has stadium seating which makes it hard to get up quickly if you have to leave with kids. Carnival has bench seats with more room. There was no kid pool and all pools were a minimum of 5 feet up to 7 feet. Our cruise was cut 4 hours short when getting on due to the norovirus inspection. The dining room was very hot in the section we sat in for dinner. The other side was cool, but nothing was done. The rooms were hot too most of the time. Princess offered a 12 hour ice cream and pizza bar, but no salad. Carnival offers a 24 hour i...

Deck Plans for Emerald Princess

Tips for Emerald Princess

Dont plan any excursions at Turks because there is a great restaurant, bar, pool right at the pier.

Don't miss British Pub Lunch on sea days - they have at least two separate menus.

We have sailed on the Emerald before and were determined to be on the Emerald again. The same applies to the future.

Use caribe for breakfast in mornings...quick in and out on excursion days

Always ate in dining room, maybe twice upstairs

we were on the riviera deck and it was perfect. Also, we took advantage of the lotus spa. It was wonderful..

Ship is big. Walk through the decks early to get an idea of where each place is located. Later, you will enjoy watching other passengers totally clueless as to where to go to get what they want.

The Lido Deck Outside always had ample seating available.

No lines at the casino - EVER! Do not put your room key next to a magnet (camera case, purse, etc.) because it will deactivate your card and it will not work.

Food is terrible

Go to International Cafe for coffee, breakfast muffin, small sandwiches and fantastic small pastries.

From MeetOnCruise iPhone App: If you have kids, tell them to go to the Shockwaves or the pool because it is very fun.

From MeetOnCruise iPhone App: The waves are fun.

From MeetOnCruise iPhone App: Make sure when the ship is rocking, go in the pool because it is fun with r
