A great cruise

Ship: Costa Pacifica
Sail Date: Apr 26, 2011

Since this ship is only 2 years old, everything is new and shiny. It is a large ship so it takes a while to know how to get around.

Ship: Costa Pacifica
Sail Date: Jan 19, 2011

COSTA SHIPS ARE VERY SMOKE FRIENDLY. ITALIANS AND GERMANS WERE VERY RUDE!!!! EVENING ENTERTAINMENT CONSISTED OF MAGIC SHOWS AND VENTRILOGISTS AWFUL. THE BALCONY STATEROOMS ARE VERY LARGE AND ROOMY, BATHROOM WAS AWESOME. OUR SHIP HAD A VERY LARGE GROUP OF GERMANS BOOKED, SO MOST ACTIVIES WERE GEARED TOWARDS THEM. PRETTY SLOW FOR ENGLISH SPEAKING QUESTS OF WHICH THEY WERE ONLY 300

Italian Cruise

Ship: Costa Pacifica
Sail Date: Mar 25, 2013

I thought the cruise was wonderful. The stops were interesting and had plenty to do. The food and service was good. It wasn't over the top as I have heard other cruise lines are, but for the money I felt it was acceptable. The only negative was that communication was a huge issue. I spent about 6 hours in line with customer service to try to understand some of the excursion info and details related to the all inclusive drink package.

First Costa Cruise - Poor Dining Experiences!

Ship: Costa Pacifica
Sail Date: Feb 11, 2013

My wife and I travelled with our three year old on our first Costa cruise and dining experiences were extremely disappointing for many reasons: - we ordered a hamburger for m son it was not cooked. We sent it back to only receive another hamburger cooked even less than the first! - a beef dish that I ordered was raw. I had it sent back and what came back was as raw as the first. - we had very long waits during dinner, sometimes as much as 30 minutes between dishes served. - on our last night, we were one of the first people to arrive in the Your Way dining; others that sat later than us were served before us. Better attention to detail required! The mandatory "hotel charge" was a surprise to us. When discussing this with the staff, the explained it's tip for the workers. I am accustomed to tip for good service. Having to play for subpar service does not see righ to mel

Ship: Costa Pacifica
Sail Date: Jan 07, 2013

I enjoyed my trip on Costa Pacifica 7 day cruise. It was wonderful experience and I am glad I had chance to spend time on your cruise. I had my family with me, kids older ages. They had good time. Food was good: we had buffet food for breakfast and lunch, and dinner in the My Way restaurant. Staff were friendly. Entertaintment was not as best but OK. Seems people age of 50-60 having fun on dance floors and shows they were offerring. TV channels were good, spent time watching TV. Ate well. Gym was good, but closes to early. Spa and sauna were OK, again close at 10PM or before that. In general it was good service for value we paid.

Not quite what we expected

Ship: Costa Pacifica
Sail Date: Feb 01, 2010

I would recommend the SHIP but I cannot give a recommendation for a cruise for anyone who is a non-smoker. We asked specifically before booking our cruise if there were designated smoking and non-smoking areas and we were assured that there definitely were. In fact, smoking is on one side of a room and non-smoking is on the other but there are no walls or barriers and the smoke is everywhere. ALSO, in the theatre there isn't supposed to be any smoking and yet they set out ashtrays and the room was foggy with smoke.

Tips for Costa Pacifica

Get your room key activated right away if you purchase the all inclusive drink package and also ask them to remove the automatic gratuity charge per day if you'd like to pay your own amount.

It was great experience to take my family. We had good time. Food, room, staff, services provided by ship were great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was good place for families with children of small and older ages. There were programs for teenagers, glad for that.
