Fun For All

Ship: Carnival Victory
Sail Date: May 09, 2013

Wonderful cruise, great room, great price, excellent food, plenty of activities, lots of excursions to choose from. The Lido Party Deck is great fun for all the younger people. The theatre activities are great for the older people. I enjoyed the balcony rooms which were an upgrade and priced very well. The wait staff in the restaurants were so helpful and accomodating. The food in the buffets were fresh and very nicely displayed. There was a variety of healthy and junk food, so everyone could eat as they desired. They accomodated special need diets. There was always something to do and plenty of time to relax and enjoy the pools and sundecks. The cruise was a lot of fun.

It was OK

Ship: Carnival Victory
Sail Date: Apr 29, 2013

Staff in Eating area In Buffet was not helpful. We had to wait in long lines and for a long time to eat. The ship needs more than loungers around Pool and Movie area.

Had a great time, just a few complaints

Ship: Carnival Victory
Sail Date: Apr 29, 2013

The food was great. We always enjoy eating in the Dining Room at our assigned table so that we can meet new people. Complaint number one: I would have picked a table for at least 6, but was told we couldn't choose the table size. So, we ended up at a table for 4, which wouldn't have been too bad, but the other couple never showed. So, it was just the two of us at dinner all week. Our dining staff made it very enjoyable for us, but it would have been nice to have other company at dinner. Complaint number 2: We enjoy the singing and dancing shows in the main theater, but the sound volume is off the charts. We actually had to put our fingers in our ears to get through some of the singing parts. I did notice other people doing the same thing. We were sitting behind the sound board and I noticed that the lights for the sound volume were all the way to the top of the red during the singing parts. They need to do a decibel reading, and I'm sure they will find that it is not in the...

Nice for a short getaway.

Ship: Carnival Victory
Sail Date: Apr 25, 2013

Victory is not new, but the overall appearance is that it is very well maintained and clean. Our room steward obviously took pride in his work and was most helpful. We had a negative excursion experience in Cozumel, but the young man in customer service handled our complaint beautifully when we decided to report it the next day. The dining room service was excellent, and the foods were not great, but most were good. There were a few odd combinations of flavors, and someone in the kitchen must love sesame seeds - probably wouldn't have noticed the excessive use of the seeds otherwise, but my husband is allergic. For evening entertainment, we saw the show music show Vroom, and both comedians on board and thoroughly enjoyed them all. While we hated the pervasive cigarette smoke in the casino, the band that played in there each night was so good, we sat on the outer edge of the casino on two different evenings to listen for a while. Our only real complaint about the ship is that the po...

Cruise in review

Ship: Carnival Victory
Sail Date: Apr 20, 2013

This was our 3rd time cruising with carnival. That is the only cruise line we have cruised with, so I have nothing else to compare it to. But, Carnival has always been able to meet our expectations. We have now cruised in Sept, Dec, and now April. I don't know if the timing has something to do with it or if this boat was smaller and less to do than the other boats we had been on...but there was ALWAYS crowds...EVERYWHERE. Lines for food every time at every station, the food didn't seem as good as the food we had on the past cruises, and you could never find a chair on lido deck. This is by far the most crowds we experienced, and it also seemed like not as many activities going on. We took some family members that this was there first cruise, and they seemed to enjoy themselves but they didn't have the other ships, crowds and food to compare to. However, I must say that the wait staff we had in the dining room and our room steward was the best we have had by far!! They remembe...

Great Cruise!

Ship: Carnival Victory
Sail Date: Apr 11, 2013

This was our second cruise with Carnival, and our 13th cruise since 2005. Carnival Exceeded my expectations, No kidding! We went to Key West, and Cozumel. Been to Key West several times, Cozumel once. We did the Dolphin Experience excursion which was everything we'd expected. It was Magical! We were looking for a quick, long-weekend getaway. Carnival had this cruise available for a very good price. We normally get a balcony room, but for a last-minute short cruise (4 nights) we opted for an inside cabin. When arriving at the port, check-in was very straightforward and moved along smoothly with 2700+ passengers there to board. Once on board, I was pleasantly surprised with the beauty and interior of the ship. After reading many reviews, I was expecting worse. We found the comfort of the ship to be surprisingly smooth, she handles the seas very well, and we hardly felt any movement. The ships master's were Pros in her handling! The seas were running in the 3-6 ft range which made f...

Just too crowded for my 11th cruise experience.

Ship: Carnival Victory
Sail Date: Apr 06, 2013

I am a seasoned cruise person and usually don't travel on Carnival. The people as far as the staff overall was fine. I must say that one of our waiters wasn't as nice as I have experienced in the past. I wouldn't go on Carnival again. It was not my first choice but it had the itinerary that my family wanted. There were so many people and it was always lines for food on the Lido deck. Hard to get settled looking for a place to eat. Lots and lots of walking since this was a large ship. The entertainment and activities were varied and I know people seemed to really be enjoying themselves. I just feel it was not as classy as I'm used to on other lines. I think I would recommend to couples and families on a budget though.

Victory review

Ship was somewhat dated. Our stop in Gran Turk was cancelled. Water slide was closed for 2 days. Excursions booked through Carnival were horrible. Staff members were amazing. Food was good.

Deck Plans for Carnival Victory

Tips for Carnival Victory

-Bring a sweater for the nighttime, it might get chilly until you get the party started, especially if you have a balcony -If you can, get to the dining room as early as possible, as you will get the best service and you will get out earlier and have more time to have fun and see the entertainment

cut through on 5,it gets you across the boat

If you're not a diver and you're in Grand Turk, take a taxi to the National Museum. Very interesting.

Get ready to do a lot of walking as this is a large ship. Know where the elevators are in the center of the ship and try to use them to cut down on a lot of extra walking. You have to pay for everything such as sodas, and drinks.

plan to wait on elevators. map of ship at all elevators really help.

If you want a quite spot to lay out, go to deck 7 to the front of the ship and you will find a door that leads you to the front of the ship. Not many people go there and its nice and quiet during the day, and at night you can see the stars clearer.

Use the stairs. Much faster than waiting for the elevator. There is also a machine that will break large denomination bills into smaller. $5 is the smallest it gives.

Pack some food for lunch, and hope that you can hold out for dinner! Dinner is the best meal on the ship.

Mediterranean buffet for breakfast and lunch, tons of undiscovered seating upstairs with lots of windows too. Deck 5 is only deck that you can go front to back of boat without changing floors. We would take the room corridor on deck 7 from our room to the back of the ship and down the stairs to the pacific Dining room. Faster and less traffic. Take stairs and forget the elevators when you can.

UNDERPACK.....UNDERPACK!!! If you have to get some stuff laundered there is self-serve launderettes on board or you can send it to be done...and this wasn't very expensive. For $10 or so I got 3 or 4 outfits washed folded and delivered to my room....it really saves a lot of room in the suitcase..

Deck 3 has sit down breakfast dining

More help on board was needed and a staff that undersand english would be nice.

FOOD WAS GREAT WE ATE LIKE PIGS AND HAD SO MUCH FUN

Just Eat The Pizza But Ask Them To Make You A Fresh One And Be Ready For Him To Pile Your Pizza One On Top Of The Other Like Pig Slop.

Get up early if you want a deck chair in the main area.

More options for dining.

Watch your spending on a daily basis because the ship accounts for it much differently than you will.

Great ship, great crew and great overall experiences except for the smokers next door who kept us from enjoying our balcony!

Waterslide was fun, even for adults!!

Get a cabin in the middle the waves hitting the ship was like someone slamming doors all day and night.
