Glory

Ship: Carnival Glory
Sail Date: Apr 14, 2013

I have cruised carnival before and had a great experience, this cruise did not meet my expectations. Shows not good, diningroom was not run properly. Our head waiters was okay, his support staff was not always around. Our steward though was very good, rooms always clean also the ship was clean.

My First Cruise

Ship: Carnival Glory
Sail Date: Apr 14, 2013

I had one problem and one concern with my first Cruise. The problem was with the stateroom attendant, his attitude was not good, he did not speak or when he did, he acted like he had a attitude but as we continued to leave, all other stateroom attendants spoke and were happy to speak. My wife and I has an issue where we needed to call home to check on family memebers, my call went through but my wife could not get the call to go through so we were able to call the front desk and they said they would have someone come up and the stateroom attendant came in with a new phone, he hooked it up and I asked him would he wait to make sure the calls went through and he looked at me and proceeded to walk out. I was very angry at this and so was my wife, we did report him to the front desk and yes we took money off of his tip. My concern was with us going to Belize, they kept announcing that when we get off in Belize to be careful of our surrounding as well as telling us to take all our j...

This was my second trip with Carnival. I really did not think the first cruise was great, but was willing to give Carnival a try again. However: The quality of the entertainment and food was very poor. During the cruise I experienced a foul smell each evening. The music was too load to enjoy, the pools too crowded to use, the daily news letter did not include any information about the ports we stopped at, and did not really explain the events in full. I will say that all employees were very friendly and helpful. I will never book with Carnival again.

Carnival Glory

Ship: Carnival Glory
Sail Date: Apr 14, 2013

Our Room was maintained very well and the Housekeeping Team was polite and courteous. Our Waiter was very good; however his supporting cast was not always readily available to help in a timely fashion (e.g. delays in service needs, etc). During our Dinner on multiple occasions a different group came by to ask if we wanted and after Dinner Alcohol Drink; we did even start on our entree and they were trying to do this. My suggestion is Management should know a meal progresses (e.g. appetizer, entree, dessert and then drinks). The Shows were not up to the level I have experienced in the past as well. Of the 5 Carnival Cruises I have been on; this was the worst.

Review of Our 7-Day Western Caribbean Cruise

Ship: Carnival Glory
Sail Date: Apr 14, 2013

There were too few on-board shows and they filled up early which caused many passengers to be turned away. The Buffet closed too early in the afternoon which meant that people returning from shore excursions could not get a late lunch. There was no signage directing passengers to the excursion debarcations and for the most part, these did not go smoothly (too much confusion). The audio directions were broadcast from the passageways rather than the in-room speakers. this made them difficult to hear and understand unless you came out of your room. They were also too long (crew members doing these need to keep in mind "KEEP IT SIMPLE"). There was too much smoke in the casino. We were on a Princess Cruise to the Eastern Caribbean a few years ago and it had better entertainment, better food and was better organized. Since our cruise left from the port of Miami it would have made more sense for our cruise arranged flights to be to and from Miami rather than Ft. Lauderdale.

Hope this is not a trend.

Ship: Carnival Glory
Sail Date: Apr 14, 2013

This was our fifth cruise on Carnival in 5 years, four on Glory. The service was good and the cabin clean. The food was good and the Ship was clean. The entertainment and the ent director were a huge step down. We could not believe the change in the shows from last year. We actually stopped going to the shows. We went to give things a try each time but left. The ent director, Josh was probably a nice guy, but if you compare him to Jorge or any on the others it was disappointing. He played to the lowest common denominator, it seemed. We did not feel engaged, there was no continuity and we did not feel as a part of something as in the past. The woman from Canada, his assistant was with out talent. Everything she said was predictable and brassy. The tours were wonderful, my kids loved them although we missed one due to the time changes on the ship....why? I NEVER respond to these things, you can see this is my first response to any of my cruises. We will be cruisin...

Sun and Fun

Ship: Carnival Glory
Sail Date: Mar 31, 2013

My friend and I had a very nice time on the Carnival Glory. We booked our flight through Carnival and was very disappointed in our arrangements on our return trip home. It ended up we got off the ship @ 8:30 and did not return home until after 9pm and we were only going to Jersey. The port we stopped at were great especially Grand Cayman Islands. The boat was not able to dock is Casa Maya so we missed that stop which was a mild disappointment. The comedians on the boat were great!!! The food was very good. I believe there should be more options for entertainment between 4 and 7. The staff was great.

OK CRUISE

Ship: Carnival Glory
Sail Date: Mar 31, 2013

The cruise was full, with a lot of children because it was spring break. The crew seemed tired to me, doing their job, but not really happy. The food in the dining room was ok, but small portions. Several times during the cruise food ordered was not served, for example soup in the dining room or salad dressing from room service. The entertainment in the theater was disappointing compared to past Carnival cruises. Seemed like Carnival is saving money by not offering quality entertainment.

Tips for Carnival Glory

adult only section fills up quick get your lounge chairs early

The Serentity is a great place to be when at sea..(Adults only)

Go to the Punchliner Comedy Brunch when they have it! You are entertained, waited on, and they have better food!!!

Ate breakfast in sit down mostly because lines on the Lido deck were very long.

Order room service on Port days, Eat at Brunch dining times - better food & service than Buffet area - lines too long, food not as good i.e. no smoked salmon and Never had Sushi like before, now some dumb Taste Bar with 1 sample food selection at a time.

Definitely check out the Serenity area on the ship, for adults only, quiet and peaceful area

P.S. I would deffinitley book at Balcony Stateroom, too many beautiful views to miss!

Should have veggie burgers, or salmon burgers at the burger stand for those who don't do red meat. When boarding give the guest the option of punching there boarding card and attaching the bungiecord key chain. Those key chains really helps when keeping track of the card.

Opt for the open seating program; it gives you the most flexibility. If you are on this program, make friends with the dining staff early on, and you will not encounter any long waits.

As a single, I kept being put at small tables. I wanted company during open dining. Great coffee and wait staff.

Carnival cruise lines permits passengers to carry onboard a reasonable amount of soft drinks. If you want diet deffeinated beverages, you won't find them on any ship. Bring your own if you are driving to the ship.

I am going to lido because the varieties foods.

Study the ship layout before attempting to navigate your way around. Some of the areas were hard to find. Also, there were too many bars with load music not enough lounges with traditional music to relax in and dance to.

Putting the Omelet line at the end of the Breakfast Buffet really slows down the progress. The stations should be separated.

Great if you like Latino themes and a party atmosphere. Not so good if you are part of the older generation (over 50).

The excursion desk will have plenty of good ideas.

Comedians were Great!

best staff ever, use only filipinos and thailanders and balinese and they would be hard to ever beat with service, the rest of the staff from caribbean to indian were not so family friendly or good. and some seemed annoyed

Buffet is best but go to the dinners never know what to expect

Yes, dont cruise carnival. Save your money.
