Entertainment

Ship: Carnival Conquest
Sail Date: May 05, 2013

Should have been more entertainment instead of showing the same show over and over. The comedy show was very difficult to get into with everyone wanting to be in the same show, Also the show time that was set at 1900 hrs was strange with this being the time most people were dining. On Wednesday night there was no entertainment scheduled anywhere on the boat.

John and Gwen's Wonderful Conquest Experience

Ship: Carnival Conquest
Sail Date: Apr 28, 2013

We've been on this same ship so many times and this time was a great experience, as usual. However, the service by our Monet serving team was OUTSTANDING, and exceeds service at any 4star restaurant like Ruth's Chris and others. The lead server at our table should be commended and promoted....words cannot adequately express our gratitude. The food selection on Lido and the Monet were outstanding as well, with the most diverse variety I have ever experienced on any ship. The only problem was the noise made by a window washing set up that was above our room. The constant pounding was awful and ruined two nights of sleep on what was supposed to be a "restful" vacation. The entertainment was okay but not outstanding as we have previously experienced. Some excursion times were much longer than indicated which caused limited time to see the city or have a leisure walk. Getting on and off the ship was easy, well organized and quick.

carnival great. cheap cruises agency horrible

Ship: Carnival Conquest
Sail Date: Apr 14, 2013

We had a great time. At times I felt there should have been more going on at night as far as shows. The comedy shows were funny but absolutely too crowded and you had to wait in line. It needs more seating. Just don't book through cheap cruises.com u will be screwed out of money

Never stray from NCL again

Ship: Carnival Conquest
Sail Date: Mar 31, 2013

From before embarking. This cruise was a train wreck. Carnival security required me to destroy a wallet. There were pink plastic bullets encased in on my wallet. I was told that since they have a resemblance to the real ones. Really? They seemed not to have an issue with the people walking around with Guns, Knives or curse words on their T shirts , Only with a wallet that would not been seen by anyone. Upon receiving our luggage, we found our large bag was destroyed. (wheel broken, chunks of plastic sticking out, zipper broken) My husband said it looked like a fork truck hit it. Our first port was to have been Isa Roatan (yes I said "was") It was a beautiful day with a light breeze. Captain advised us that the wind was too strong to go in and that we will have another see day. Yet the weather did not stop another Carnival ship to go to port. As I watched them as we headed out to sea. I'll tell you up front, My husband says I'm a food snob (30+years of cooking and schooling) I fo...

Weather sucks !!!

Ship: Carnival Conquest
Sail Date: Mar 31, 2013

I was not happy that the pilot that they brought on in Rotan did not port the ship. Yes the weather was not perfect but I believe there should have been a way to get us to port. The ship itself was GREAT !!! Their service is just the best. Anything they can do for you, they do.

Mark & Diane's get away

Ship: Carnival Conquest
Sail Date: Mar 31, 2013

We were pleased with the method of getting on & off the ship. Little wait. The room was not quit as expected. We actually thought we would have a queen bed and our room would go out to a deck with seating. The deck was bare and no place to sit. We had to go looking for ice everytime we needed ice. The entertainment was nothing like any type of show we were used to seeing on a cruise. Did not feel the choreography was entertaining with all the technical background displays. The costumes were drab. It was next to impossible to get a chair around the pool everyday. People would put their towels out and never use the chairs. The music was loud and made it difficult to Cary on a conversation or read. I guess the biggest disappointment was not to go a shore in Honduras. We could not understand why some ships went in and some just decided to keep cruising on to the next port. Honduras was the main reason we took the cruise. Some snorkel trips were canceled and some others on our ship were ...

Average nothing special

Ship: Carnival Conquest
Sail Date: Mar 31, 2013

I like kids but our cruise had way too many young people running wild with little supervision. Forget trying to get into the hot tubs, elevators and pools. Kids, kids.kids everywhere. My wife and I will never take another cruise at spring break again. The entertainment was fair to poor, we snaged some windy days and never made it into the first port of call. Our dining room waiters were friendly and provided outstanding service. The so called family friendly laugh entertainment was crude. I gave this cruise 3 stares but probably should have given it 2 stars.

disappointed

Ship: Carnival Conquest
Sail Date: Mar 24, 2013

boat nice, rooms large, loved the balcony. food just ok, not enough choices and things closed up early. excursion got cancelled due to weather, yet nobody notified us so we missed a whole day in montego bay waiting for excursion, then tried to scehdule snorkelling in next port, but by then booked up. finally found a excursion but waited a long time to get on bus to resort. not very organized. very confusing on where to go etc. seemed as though they really didn't care, they already had our money. will probably use another cruise line for next cruise.

summary

Ship: Carnival Conquest
Sail Date: Mar 24, 2013

Our state room was roomy with 2 windows. The staff was very friendly and always smiling and kept our room very clean. We enjoyed talking with them. Buffet staff was very quick in picking up the dishes even though we were not done with them. We hated to go through the casino inhaling the smoke. The shows were so so. Scotty was not funny at all. Other comedians were excellent. Enjoyed the food especially the deserts but the buffet kept repeating the same items. This was the cheap cruise compared to the Princess, Royal Caribbean, and we certainly got our $ worth and more. We would recommend anyone with limited budget to the Carnival cruises.

Deck Plans for Carnival Conquest

Tips for Carnival Conquest

There is so many choices when it comes to dining. Try things out of your comfort zone.

get to bfast early long lines. dining room good, but long wait. sundeck chairs held by towels .

Skip Lido for dinner and dine in one of the restaurants. The food is EXCELLENT! Walking up and down steps is great exercise. Walking the length of the ship where the rooms are located is also great exercise. Take your own bottles of water and you will not have to purchase prior to going on an excursion.

This ship is great, def. check out the excursions and all they have to offer.

The Hamburger Hut was a great hit! But what about those who don't eat beef? Sometimes the Deli wasn't getting it. They didn't serve potato chips with their sandwiches.

When you get back from Cozumel there was lack of options on shows. Comedy needs more seating.

The ship was beautiful . The RENOIR Dining experience was excellent for me but my wife did not have vegetarian dishes to choose from.

Book a meal at The Steakhouse. The food is wonderful!

Make sure you go to the captains dinner. that by far was the very best dinning experience ever.

I would recommend a different cruise line.

I loved the dining experience at the Renoir restaurant, it was very elegant and every meal was superb

Always book the early dining time and get there early so you don't have to wait in line. Always check the menu for the day and if you don't like what they are serving head to Lido Buffet. After a week of the same fruits and veggies a hamburger is wonderful!!

eat the burgers and Mexican food around the pool. The best food overall on the ship, and you don't have to pay extra for it (not like Johnny Rockets on Royal Caribbean).

they have a hairy chest contest and you only have to have 1 hair.

The cookies in the back of the ship with the pizzas are the best. Get them before they are gone.

every thing was great, except the the state room. great food every where on lido deck.

Don't miss the Brunch..served on sea days...Its a secret that needs to get out.

Make sure you go for breakfast and lunch in the dining rooms, they have family seating to share your daily activities with everyone.

We picked this balcony, because it is larger. But really not necessary to enjoy your trip. There are so many places to go on this ship, even an inside room would be fine. Also, I hope they don't replace the comedians with Karaoke. They had more Karaoke than needed in my opinion. But I'm sure there are some that like to do that sort of thing. The other shows were very entertaining. Did I mention that we had fun?

We ate most meals in the Monet dining room. We find this easier and liked the attentiveness of the waiters.
