New test program on Splendor

A friend sent me this and asked for my thoughts. I thinks it is a poor idea and I see a lot of possible problems and very little gain. What do you think?

Test program on the splendor. Sail and sign cards will be delivered to your cabin mail box.
You will use your boarding pass for all transactions until you retrieve your card.

I just don't like the idea that your card will be left unattended if you have a credit card attached to it. I feel like that just leaves too much room for problems.

Could be my anxiety talking, but ah well.

Maybe they are testing out the logistics for the cruise medallion that Princess is going with?

I just don't understand the reasoning for it, but It is what it is ...

Sadly, it seems the "beards" like it.Sad

I sure hope you are wrong about it going fleet wide.

I'm reading some reviews on here and other places on this test program and not too many are happy over it. People are finding them in this mail box at their cabin door. Test program? It'll be fleet wide before long.

No good Angry

Argghhh...proof reading error.

I do understand the diff between are and our.

That is a good idea. In fact, since there are so many repeat cruisers, why don't the cruise lines just keep our photos digitally on file and have are cards already made for us when we check in? That would be a real time saver for both sides of the transactions. They could put a time limit on it such that every 5 years or so, the photo has to be updated.

On a recent cruise out of Canaveral, the check in computers bogged down. We didn't have to wait in line long because we were checked in prior to 11AM and there wasn't a crowd. But we did have to wait about a half hour till they could get our key cards to us. Since they did not begin boarding until almost noon, no problem for us. But if that had happened later in the day, it could have really messed up the boarding process for everyone.

With pre-printed key cards using an on file photo, I'm guessing 60 - 70% of the cards could have been processed days in advance. Better for everyone.

I've had some RCI cruisers tell me some of the ships they go on, they can pre-load a picture when they do their online check in, so I'm assuming it would be something similar....
