Royal Caribbean Cruise Reviews

This is a great choice for families — second only to Disney Cruise Line and significantly less expensive. It’s also ideal for sporty travelers: The line’s adrenaline rush-driven activities — the best at sea — include rock-climbing, surf simulations, ice skating, ziplining, inline skating, and boxing (in a real ring). Entertainment choices feature high-dive shows on Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, as well as parades with stilt walkers and “Madagascar,” “Shrek,” and “Kung Fu Panda” characters, the result of a partnership with DreamWorks Animation.

Good service; old and tired facilities.

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Enchantment of the Seas | Sail Date: Aug 11, 2014

The service was great.  The food is so so, especially at Windjammer's.  My Fair Lady's food is hit or miss.   The fish dishes tasted rubbery, and steak was either really tender and juicy or tough as rubber on another day.  The best place to grab a quick meal is really Park Cafe, especially their roast beef sandwich.  Most of the public area is showing its age but the crew does its best to maintain it well.  The pool is very small; it does not have those slides that RC commercials have on TV.  The port stops were at Coco Cay (private island that got really crowded with all cruise ship guests; pretty island though), Nassau (Atlantis was way over priced and not worth it in my opinion; the rides on any Six Flags or Wet and Wild are much better and varied), and Grand Bahamas (really wasn't that much to do; we went to Taino beach for a few hours, which was a tourist trap...) The shows were decently entertaining.  Overall, it was just OK...  If you get a good deal on the price, it's not a bad way to vacation.

Jam Packed

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Enchantment of the Seas | Sail Date: Aug 11, 2014

Cannot believe that ONE cabin steward can handle so many cabins in such an efficient manner. He was FANTASTIC. The dining room service was equally great. Never seen such courtesy on any cruise line. FOOD. What can I say other than it was fabulous! The variety, the quality, the presentation, the fact that it arrived in front of you HOT, etc.,etc.. Even the variety in the Windjammer was outstanding.

So what were the cons? DO NOT GET CABINS 8545, 8547, 8045, 8047, 8039 or 8539. The first four listed have a bar storeroom directly above and they are working ALL night dropping heavy boxes and wheeling noisy carts on a tile floor. NO SLEEP! The other two are adjacent to the stairs and if there are teenagers on board, watch out as they love to jump down four or five stairs at a time! Ship was jam packed so there was nothing that could be done. Unfortunately, we did not realize and chose the week before school started so there were 666 kids (that is correct) on board with little to ZERO parental control. All things being considered the staff did a remarkable job. I still rate RCCL as the best cruise line having traveled on them 8 times with Holland America a close second. This was our 18th cruise and three more planned this year.

My Review of "Enchantment of the Seas" cruise

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Enchantment of the Seas | Sail Date: Aug 10, 2014

Great get-a-way ... but too many kids the week we traveled.  Loved the relaxed atmosphere ... food was OK (Chops was excellent but I hate to pay extra for food when we've already paid for the cruise food); extra charge if you wanted lobster (never used to be that way); the staff of the ship mostly was pleasant and wanted to please or be of service (our cabin steward, servers at dinner).

The bathroom was VERY small, but otherwise the room was OK for what we paid.

We would do this cruise again if the price was right!!!

From our stateroom attendant to our waiters, the food, all of the activities on the ship, we were always busy doing something and enjoying ourselves.  We had excellent service and an overall great time.  I have been on multiple Royal Caribbean cruises and would absolutely sail again!  Thank you!

Great time on RC

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Vision of the Seas | Sail Date: Aug 09, 2014

The service staff, dining room and state room attendant, made the experience excellent. They went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. The entertainment was also enjoyable. Royal Caribbean was a great choice.

Vision Cruise

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Vision of the Seas | Sail Date: Aug 09, 2014

My family and I greatly enjoyed this cruise.  Our stateroom attendant was always available to assist us when needed.   The dining servers were great, very attentive and efficient.  We had balcony staterooms and took full advantage of the view.  The ship's activities and live entertainment were outstanding.  We would take this cruise again.

great getaway

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Vision of the Seas | Sail Date: Aug 09, 2014

This cruise was a last minute deal for us.  The room was better than expected for the price.  The crew has a lot of personality and work hard to entertain. The only negative was that the spa seemed very disorganized.  They had to change the time of a prepaid massage and facial and the pedi I tried to get was over 1/2 hour late.  I was unable to wait, but I noticed they still charged me $10.00 for something that was their fault.  That said, the spa is not actually run by Royal Caribbean, so I don't hold that against RCCL.  The food in the main dining was very good and the Chef's Table experience was memorable.  I loved being a part of the Thriller Dance on the last night.  That was HUGE fun.  Even the little things, like trivia contests and the bar tender who decided to create something off menu for us were fun.  This was our second cruise with Royal Caribbean and we will definitely consider them again in the future.

Service was impeccable!

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Jewel of the Seas | Sail Date: Aug 08, 2014

This was my 4th cruise and I have to say, my favorite.  Not only did Royal Caribbean serve delicious dishes for lunch at the Windjammer buffet, the main dining room dinners were varied.  Previous Carnival cruises had average and plentiful food, but I looked forward to Royal Caribbean's cuisine for every meal. The fresh fruits and vegetables were plentiful, a plus!

Our biggest raves; however, is for our waiter - kudos to him.  Lincoln, our dinner waiter, went out of his way to accommodate our 10 year old daughter who is a  picky eater.  He anticipated her order to provide her with fresh berries and raw carrots that were not on the menu.  Often, he brought them to her within 60 seconds of her being seated.  This made a huge difference because our dining time was late, 8:30pm, and she was famished.  Lincoln entertained our table with simple magic tricks and toothpick puzzles, stumping the adults as well as the teens.   He shared with us his life in the Phillipeans and encouraged us to join him on a new state-of-the-art cruise ship that will be sailing, soon.  Lincoln truly knows how to please his customers.

We we truly enjoyed the island ports on this Southern Caribbean cruise.  Some of the beaches were walking distance from the ports (St Croix, Sint Maartin) so an excursion was not necessary saving our family of five some money.  Snorkeling was fabulous!  Antigua had a inexpensive shopping area outside the port to spend the morning.

Our family went to a show every evening seeing plenty of live music, dancing, etc...  The lounges had lively dancers who encouraged everyone to dance.  The cruise director, Denny, was entertaining - truly hilarious!  Don't miss his "Adult games" on the last night of the cruise as it was  tasteful and left us with great memories do fun, silly, crazy times.  I expected it to be raunchy but it was titilating enough to leave us smiling!
