Our Family's Best Cruise Ever!

Ship: Disney Fantasy
Sail Date: Jun 08, 2013

This cruise was excellent! Our itinerary was fun! We had never been to Grand Cayman, Costa Maya or Cozumel. We swam with the Sting Rays in the Caymans, snorkled at Costa Maya and rode a dolphin in Cozumel. On board ship, the activities were great! Our 14 year old loved the Vibe, where they even made their own movie and it played in the Buena Visa theater! Our 7 year old loved the the Oceaneers club. She had fun playing, making crafts, making new friends and more! She also loved going to the Bibbity Bobbity boutique and getting made up like a princess! Everyone loved the AquaDuck, the pools and the huge funnel vision screen. Besides the great movies, basketball final games 3 & 4 were shown. The Buena Vista theater played 1st run movies and the plays on the Walt Disney Theater 's stage were awesome! DJ dance parties in the tube were a blast Beat of all was the food! The dining room rotation was fun, the food choices were so terrific, it was hard to choose and the service was won...

The shows and foods were good but the children's program was boring the kids were complaining nothing to do, the pool area was awful crowded and kids diving all over like monkeys, kids climbing over like crabs, the aqua duck was awesome!

Memories

Ship: Disney Dream

Had a wonderful time with my son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandsons. A trip that we will never forget. Disney certainly knows how to do it. Always something to do. Hard to decide what to do because we wanted to do everything.

FOOD .. BLAH

Ship: Disney Dream
Sail Date: May 02, 2013

We really enjoyed our cruise. My reasons for not giving 5 stars is mainly because of the food, especially in the sit down restaurants. My steaks were never prepared as ordered, food was cold and never brought out at the same time. Our waiter was substandard. Kids meals always include fries. I like to feed my child healthy options. Chicken tenders everymeal? everywhere? Room service small and not tasty menu but 24 hours. They also are not using kid friendly silverware or plates (large.) However, characters everywhere for your child. When you get on your cruise drop off something at the guest services and they will have the characters autograph it for free. The private Disney beach, so clean so beautiful, food was great and included there.

Overview of Disney Cruise Line

What We Love

  • Sailing with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and other Disney characters.
  • Adults-only restaurant and lounge.
  • Outstanding entertainment: Disney characters in musicals, live production shows and 3D movies.
  • Large staterooms (165-241 sq. ft. standard cabins) all with one and a half bath.

What To Expect

  • Atmosphere: A beautiful ship with many families and an upbeat Disney touch to everything.
  • Fellow Passengers: The majority of passengers are families with children, but there are separate facilities for couples seeking a quieter, more refined ambiance.
  • Dining: Assigned dining and an Innovative Rotational Dining system, which lets you "rotate" to one of three distinctly themed restaurants each night, while your servers follow you from venue to venue. Get fast food in Goofy's Galley and Pinocchio's Pizzeria.
  • Entertainment: These ships do not have casinos. 3D movies, Broadway-style theater, live shows (many with Disney characters), and a “Villains Tonight” comedy show. Adults only disco and bar.
  • Staterooms: All staterooms come with one and a half bath, Frette linens, and extra storage area. Standard balcony staterooms are 268 sq. ft. A family stateroom with a veranda is 304 sq. ft. and sleeps five.

Gratuities: Suggested tips ($12 per person, per day) cover service staff and are charged to your credit card.
