Carnival Cruise Lines Cruise Reviews

These boisterous ships woo party animals, as well as fun-loving families and singles, with constant entertainment (think poolside hairy chest contests, after-hours comedians, buckets of beer, plenty of activities for kids) and increasingly impressive food, including burgers by Food Network star Guy Fieri. Carnival has begun to host onboard concerts by big-name performers — including Jennifer Hudson, Chicago, Jewel, and Leann Rimes — on regular sailings and has partnered with Dr. Seuss Enterprises for themed story hours and kid-friendly "Cat in the Hat" brunches.

Our Three Day Cruise

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Inspiration | Sail Date: Jul 11, 2014

The Carnival Inspiration Cruise was a great experience for us.  It was the first time we had been on a cruise.  Our room was just perfect.  The bed was so comfortable that we slept more than we normally do.  Our room stewardess, Michelle was very friendly and kept our room super clean.  We also liked how she folded the towels into animal shapes. Love The food was excellent!  Everything we ate was very delicious. We especially like the cleanliness of the ship.  The hard working people you have do an awsome job at cleaning.  They are also friendly and helpful.  The best part of this trip is that we feel relaxed.  We can keep working hard for another year and go on another cruise again.

Thank you for making us feel very special.

Mr. and Mrs. Flores

Fun in the sun

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Triumph | Sail Date: Jul 10, 2014

My family and I have now done 6 cruises. Five on Carnny and one with royal, both have been enjoyable. this was the largest ship weve been on thus far and would say its the best! There were more entertainment options and better food selections. For a family one a budget this is the best deal out there. We drive simply because airfair is out of the question. Get on the boat and everything is taken care of want soda just bring your on 12pack.

A bit more military, a bit less haphazard

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Fascination | Sail Date: Jul 10, 2014

In general, the cruise was excellent. Some significant changes are needed.

1. The embarkation was poorly orchestrated in many areas. Perhaps lengthening the process would help. Many passengers were confused.

2. The food, meals, service, after-hours availability were excellent. Choices were wide and well prepared, service was excellent.

3. Cabin service, clenliness, linen and towels were always clean and nicely done. The young lady we had for cabin service was exceptional. Polite, efficient, helpful.

4. The Off-the-ship events/tours were a distinct failure for us. For example, we bought 4 tickets for the Glass Bottom Boat, and our young son really wanted to go snorkeling. So we managed to change one ticket for him. The womay who sold us the ticket never asked, never alerted us that children HAD to be 18 y.o. or older to go by themseves. We have 2 minor children, leading to a hasty and confusing disaster of trying to change MY Glass Bottom Boat ticket to the snorkling boat, as the escorting adult. The snorkling itself was very good, and our son really enjoyed it. Bus transport was rather confusing, trying to determine which bus was going back to our ship.

5. The debarkation exercise was modeled after a poorly executed Chinese Fire Drill. None of the staff seemed to know what, where, when we would depart. We ended up sitting well over an hour.after our deck debarkation was announced. The elevators and stairs were jam-packed, which lead to the question:  What would have happened if the passengers (and crew) had to leave the ship ASAP in an emergency? More communication and more efficient debarking is necessary. Perhaps hiring a few ex-military would help, such as First Seargents and Warrent Officers.

Great cruise

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: Jul 10, 2014

If you're looking for a short and relaxing cruise, this is it. This ship has a great waterslide that can be enjoyed by all ages. The spa is amazing. If you are a work out buff you definitely would want to check out the gym.

Carnicsl Cruise Medical Team Saved ny Husband Life

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Fascination | Sail Date: Jul 10, 2014

We arrived to get on the ship and my husband had a very bad neck/headache from a spinal injection three day before our trip. He never got to do anything but stay in the bed. The ship Dr treated with twic a day eith IV and medication.  So need to say we did not enjoy this trip because of his sickness.  May in the near future me will book again. After paying off the medical charges from the ship. The ship  was lovely for what little time I got to walk around

Fulfilled Alaska bucket list

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Miracle | Sail Date: Jul 08, 2014

Our Alaska cruise was something my husband and I always wanted to do. We were not disappointed. This was our Platinum cruise with Carnival. Check in went so smooth, went right to the cabin and emptied our carry on bags an alas our luggage came while we were there. Fastest ever. Our cabin steward Carlos was great so attentive and friendly. The wait staff were as frequently and anticipated what we wanted.

The Alaskan scenery was simply gorgeous. We went on the Tracy Arm excursion which I recommend to all, you venture off in a smaller boat to get closer to the glaciers and waterfalls. You stop there for awhile to get photos. We saw calfing of the glaciers which was amazing.. Skagway was a quaint town we did a salmon bake but I wished we did a more exploration excursion, maybe next time. Juneau we went on a whale watch and rainforest walk to Mendenhall Glacier. Even though the day wasn't nice we had an awesome time. We saw a lot of whales during a bottle feeding where they are all together. Saw Sea lions also. Whale watching was great I would do that again with no doubt.

We love Carnival and will keep sailing with them. We have met lot of people we keep in touch with from all over. The crew are all friendly and call you by name which I like it makes you feel special. I do recommend the Alaska cruise it is a must see.

Lots of Fun!

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Victory | Sail Date: Jul 07, 2014

This was my first time cruising Carnival.  I have cruised Holland America and Norweigan before and this was definitely the most fun.  My children enjoyed camp carnival and all the food choices onboard.  DJ poolside was great.  We had a balcony room that slept five and it was roomier than I had thought it would be.  Three closets and VERY comfortable beds.  The ship was a little dated and my room (9270) could have been dusted a little better but nothing worth complaining about, after all the ship is 14 years old.  The room was in a great location (Lido deck).  Close to pool, laundry room and elevators.  All the staff was very nice especially our waiters at dinner.  Clive and his team were unbelievable.  The entertainment during dinner was great.  They had everyone up and dancing.  My kids had a great time.  I would definitely cruise Carnival again but I would choose a newer ship.  Carnival's private island Half Moon Cay was unbelievable.  The ship uses tenders for this island as it cannot dock there.  Get on island early and leave early to avoid tender lines of 1 hour or more!  On another note, the only thing I did not like about the ship is that you must pass through a smoke filled casino to get to the Pacific Dining room or go through the hot pool area to get there.  Not so convienient or healthy.

Carnival Victory Cruise

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Victory | Sail Date: Jul 07, 2014

Enjoyed the trip but was not happy with waiting 2 hours to get from the ferry to the Half Moon Island.

The employees were wonderful during the cruise. The ship was somewhat out dated but pleasant. We probably would go on a newer ship next time.  Thought the photo display could be more organized when looking for pictures, very costly. Otherwise, had a good time.  The islands were beautiful just wish we had more time on all of them.  Too much time wasted on waiting to get people moved.

Cruise #6 with Carnival

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Conquest | Sail Date: Jul 06, 2014

Overall the cruise went well.  The PROS: Gary, the cruise director and the comedy club!.   The GOOD: food and other entertainment.   The BAD:  piped in music on the lido deck belongs in a restaurant or an elevator - music for a lido deck needs to be lively and hopping!
