Carnival Cruise Lines Cruise Reviews

These boisterous ships woo party animals, as well as fun-loving families and singles, with constant entertainment (think poolside hairy chest contests, after-hours comedians, buckets of beer, plenty of activities for kids) and increasingly impressive food, including burgers by Food Network star Guy Fieri. Carnival has begun to host onboard concerts by big-name performers — including Jennifer Hudson, Chicago, Jewel, and Leann Rimes — on regular sailings and has partnered with Dr. Seuss Enterprises for themed story hours and kid-friendly "Cat in the Hat" brunches.

Honeymoon destroyed

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Ecstasy | Sail Date: Jul 20, 2014

My cruise experience was terrible. That was rude and on cooperative when assistance was needed. Ship it's self is old and outdated. I only had three helpful staff members on the entire voyage. Children are running completely wild with no parental supervision spitting in to the ocean and allowing it to get into people's food. If you win a raffle do not expect it to go on to your account without hounding the staff to put on. And then you have to wait almost 2 days to get a manager put it on. excursions can be canceled not even seven hours before they are about to embark. And when you want to change that excursion that was canceled by the ship you're treated like a piece of trash and told you are an old person for liking the excursion that you wanted. I have not recommended that my friends go on this ship. I will not go back on the ship again.

Family Cruise

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Ecstasy | Sail Date: Jul 20, 2014

Overall we enjoyed our cruise on the Ecstasy. It was clean, the food was good & so was the entertainment. However, we had issues one night with Jasmina at the entrance to the dining room. It was like going through security & if we didn't know the room number for everyone else in party, we were made to feel guilty. In fact, after we were seated, she realized that everyone was not there & sent another gal over to ask us to get up from the table & stand & wait until they got there. We refused to because we were all ready seated & the others were on the way. We then noticed that she did not give the others menus until every single person was there & did not bring a place setting for the chair that was added due to our party of 9. Every other night we were treated well & the service was great, especially from our waiters (Igusto & Liston & Giovonti). Our steward, Tim, was great, also.

Excelente

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Ecstasy | Sail Date: Jul 20, 2014

amazing already planning next

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Sensation | Sail Date: Jul 20, 2014

This cruise was great. The ship is a little older and missing a few things was looking forward to ( sushi bar , movie screen, serenity deck was small no separate pool or those great double hammocks) . The staff in Ecstasy dining room were awesome Malvin and Dejon were great very interactive with whole party. Our room steward was OK shoe trick ( hide shoes different places the pair back up) only worked half time. Room service little slow but tasted great. We stopped in Freeport they put you on wrong side have to take taxi over ours was $4 person 15 min ride each way, drivers do drive crazy but give tour information whole trip. Went on the combo excursion with snorkel on boat with water slide and rock wall ( these people were perfect kept watch over all plenty of help , I got salt in my eyes and just mentioned to hubby and a guide was by my side and pulled me in.) In Nassau went on tour that was part of the combo our guide Marcus was great we ended in Atlantis not enough time there never found aquarium ( only complaint there)came back to boat each day for lunch. We bought $25 coupon book off boat shopping show and got tons of free items in Nassau ( charms, bags, spices, necklaces). Kids loved circle c and and On clubs, activities were fun only thing everything stops at 12am on this ship . One 23rd of advice that I will change for next cruise do early dining , activities stop for early dining but not for late. I know seems lot of negative but really I would have liked to know some of these things, all in all my family of 5 3 adults and 2 girls 16 and 12 had an amazing time and are ready to go back.

Cruise Photos

best staff ever Do do the early dining staff so worth dressing up was the 2 port combo excursion so was great best guides snorkel trip

There was more to do than time allowed and a great experience

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Triumph | Sail Date: Jul 19, 2014

We enjoyed our time onboard as it was very relaxing. I was disappointed in the cleanliness of our stateroom.Everything was so dusty that my phone that sat on the counter for 5 days had a dust film on it by the time we left. The staff was VERY friendly and took care of every need.

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Fantasy | Sail Date: Jul 19, 2014

If you're in Virginia, there aren't many summer cruises to pick from on the east coast unless you want to fly. We went on a 25th Anniversary and drove to Charleston, which wasn't a bad drive. The Fantasy was an older ship, but in very, very well maintained condition and just small enough that you didn't spend your vacation trying to find your way around. Cabins, halls, decks--everything was as clean as any other ship I've been on. The price was good and the five days went by quickly. We got the Cheers Beverage Plan--a must do if you're concerned about how many drinks at $8.75 you're going to have. The food was good, service was excellent and this is a great deal if you live within driving distance of Charleston. If you can get to Charleston the day before, see the town and spend the night, it's better still.

Good parts and bad

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Carnival Inspiration | Sail Date: Jul 18, 2014

We took our four grandchildren on this trip as a congradulations to them for their straight "A" report cards.  We had a wonderful time with the kids. The food was fine.  The crew was great.

However, when our 9 - 12 year grandchildren even commented that they thought that Carnival was constantly, cleverly working the cruisers for  money, it was a concern. As an example, bingo was $20 for a sheet of 3 tickets. At least 300 people played.  There were 3 games. One for $100, one for $125 the last for $150.  We waited for 30 min for them to sell the tickets.  The games were over in 20 minutes...not much for the cost.  Just one example.  The kids were also upset that they were led to believe that the Build a Bear was for St Jude's.  When they got there they were told that only if they bought  the bears that were already made would the money go to St Judes.

The other reason that I would not give the cruise more stars is that although in general the ship was clean, my cabin's toilet was not cleaned  for the three days of the trip
