The ship experience was lovely. Very intimate with less than 200 on board. Food was delicious and service was good, although some of the servers at lunch/dinner seemed to be cranky at times. Our cabin steward was wonderful--she kept our room spotless. The piano player in the lounge was exceptional. He took requests and played age appropriate songs for our group and showed us a good time each night. My main complaint is that we only got 2 days of cruising since the Rhine River was not navigable for most of our trip. No one from Viking communicated that to us or we might have made other plans. They did put us up in hotels but that's just not the same as being aboard the ship.

We weren't sure what to expect but our cruise was better than we could have imagined. At first we felt guilty about being so spoiled, but we quickly got used to it and enjoyed every minute.

noi a/c fr three days fancy tour group should of had the a c fixed and nt wait til the end th trip nd still no iair the nex t city was an hour away an a part could have beenn flowwn r drien in --- no excuse. i have a med conditon aad and suffered i slept an the deck and when one staff sw me she panic i wa sick as a dog!!

p This was our first River Cruise and i don#39;t think it will be the last!!!! What a charming way to enjoy a relaxing cruise..... ! The Viking Prestige was a beautiful ship..... up-to-date in every way.... I had full internet connections everywhere except when we were down in the deepest locks. The food was great..... selections were very varied and everyone should have been satisfied! Ports of call were nicely done with the included tours... seeveral times we went out on our own just to be able to prowl the side streets and sample the local fare. Our room was very spacious and had lots of storage... our attendant was awesome and kept everything very pristine! The scenery was beyond description - the main reason we chose this trip - and we were not disappointed!! We loved everything.... Viking did a fine job and we would not hesitate to book with them again!!!

Viking has just pulled the biggest gaffe of any cruise line we have ever used. We booked a river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam 10 months ago. We also booked our airline through them (and paid a $300 premium to arrive one day early with preferred selection for our air travel). Our airline seat assignments were arranged. Five months ago, the airline switched to a larger plane. Viking did not tell us or our travel agent of the plane and seat changes....and we did not find out about them until after we received our final packet of information from Viking. The package showed the seat assignments we had selected for the return flight, but no seat assignments shown for the departing flight, probably because they were embarrassed about how miserable they were. We have been given the WORST POSSIBLE seat assignments. For our long flight to Europe, the four members of our party have been given the MIDDLE SEAT in FOUR DIFFERENT ROWS. We are now told it is too late to change our seat ass...
