Solstice Experience June 7 Sailing

Ship: Celebrity Solstice
Sail Date: Jun 07, 2013

We have sailed on the Solstice previously on the East Coast. The ship is Grand and the Service was Great. While the food was really super, the selection was rather slim. Entertainment was the only area of the experience we were not pleased with. The entertainer doing the magic was not bad but his rendering of hypnosis was not Celebrity quality. The Cruise director (Patti?) was Super and she should sing more often than the last afternoon. All-in-all, our Celebrity cruise was another great experience. Thanks, we still feel your number one on the seas.

very nice ship, friendly helpful crew, great intertainment!

Ship: Celebrity Solstice
Sail Date: May 31, 2013

Ship was clean, on cutting edge equipment. Crew was very helpful and attentive to guest, good service when anything was spilled it was taken care of right away, keeps ship in clean and in great shape! The entertainment was as good as it gets, good variety and always great to watch and participate in. Two waiters in particular were Rolando and Harrah in Main dining room on level three, gave excellent friendly service at table #268. The ship was so nice I don't really know why we disembarked at the ports!

Need things for teenagers to do

Ship: Celebrity Solstice
Sail Date: May 31, 2013

Great Cruise but nothing for teenagers to do while at sea. Need a movie theatre or activities suitable for family cruise since Wi-Fi is expensive giving them something to do. The basketball court was the same enclosure as the soccer court.

Cruising Alaska on Solstice

Ship: Celebrity Solstice
Sail Date: May 31, 2013

Celebrity Solstice was overall an incredible first cruise experience. The staff was very personable and greeted guests by name throughout the cruise. Aqua class cabins were treated to Blu, an excellent specialty restaurant, as well as to express embarking and disembarking. The only reason for the 4 rating is due to difficulties in tendering guests off the boat and into port in Juneau causing delays in our excursions. Also, immigration delays in Victoria caused difficulties in managing the large crowd of guests lining up to get off the ship.

Ship: Celebrity Solstice
Sail Date: May 31, 2013

the ship is great, but the itinerary was very boring,The only good thing is the fjord that was the best part of the trip,After that most of the time cruised in open water. He cruised the inside passage from juneau in the middle of the night (what good would that do!!) .Although he was suppose to cruise inside in his way to vectoria ,he went from open seas, the whole trip is average not as I expected at all.

Amazing impressions

Ship: Celebrity Equinox
Sail Date: May 29, 2013

We got a lot of new amazing impressions from different country's attractions. Bad impressions from Dubrovnik: too expensive, peoples are malevolent. KV11 shore excursion is very cute visually, but Islands that we visited for beach and lunch absolutely not ready for acceptance the tourists. Bad sanitation, the meal uneatable and can be the reason of poisoning. The lower level of the guide. NPO4 is very good excursion, but long non stop way to Amalfi (more than 2hr without restroom) is hard test for not young people. One day of the our vacation has been stolen by security of Equinox. We got our baggage only about 7:00 p.m. in despite of we had priority to get it. The reason is the Iron in baggage. First of all, the ticket agreement not put a veto on Iron, Secondly, if it is a really dangerous using iron, the special iron room must be equipped on the ship in order to passenger could prepare their formal dress. Now you enforce passangers to take too expensive iron service.

Wonderful Experience

Ship: Celebrity Equinox
Sail Date: May 29, 2013

This was a 12-day Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona to ports in France, Italy, Croatia, and Montenegro. A wonderful itinerary (though port intensive). We took a few days pre and post trip to stay in Barcelona and enjoy this thoroughly remarkable city. The Celebrity Equinox is a very comfortable and entertaining ship. Due to the numerous ports of call and our late-dinner seating, we did not get to take advantage of everything the ship had to offer (mostly the entertainment in the theater). However, the entertainment in the lounges, at poolside, and in the main foyer was outstanding. Our balacony cabin was located forward on deck 8 and was quite comfortable. We did enjoy returning from an excursion and relaxing out on the balacony before dinner. Storage was quite adequate. The staff throughout the ship were very friendly and helpful. We did buy the Specialty restaurant 3-package. While we thoroughly enjoyed Muranos and the Tuscan Grill, the Asian Silk Harvest restaurant was a...

Celebrity Summit - Bermuda

Ship: Celebrity Summit
Sail Date: May 26, 2013

My husband and I had a good time on the Celebrity Summit at the end of May 2013 to Bermuda. We were in an Aquaclass stateroom, which I would highly recommend! We were greeted with a bottle of champagne, canapes daily, and most importantly were able to eat in the Aquaclass only dining room, Blu, every night. We checked the menu of the main dining room and Blu, and felt that Blu offered better menu items nightly. The service there was top notch and the food was excellent. We did hear quite a few complaints from many people on the cruise about the quality of main dining room (Cosmopolitan Restaurant) food and inconsistency of the food. I had only one major complaint and one minor complaint about the cruise and ship. The major complaint was the food timing in the Oceanview cafe, the buffet/casual dining room. My husband and I went to eat there a few times while in port for lunch at 11:30 am and dinner around 5 pm as we just wanted to grab something quick and head off of the ship. ...

Overview of Celebrity Cruises

What We Love

  • A higher level of cuisine and service plus elegant alternative restaurants where food and wine is paired in a gourmet dining experience.
  • Flexible “dine as you please” restaurant plan, gourmet cuisine in alternative restaurants, martini bars, champagne bars and a club offering a choice of 64 beers.
  • The Lawn Club on the ships’ top deck boasts real grass and casual activities (croquet, anyone?) on Celebrity’s newest Solstice-class ships.
  • Martini and wine bars plus Michael’s, and a clubby lounge with a choice of 64 beers.

What To Expect

  • Atmosphere: A more sophisticated cruise experience, where the focus is on fine dining and wine on a contemporary art-filled ship.
  • Fellow passengers: Primarily couples that appreciate fine dining and wine ranging in age from thirties to retired. During school holidays, mostly families with children are onboard.
  • Entertainment: While Celebrity's ships have standard Las Vegas-style floorshows, jazz and theme parties, the focus is on hanging out in the specialty lounges and sampling wine, champagne, martinis and designer beer.
  • Staterooms: Standard inside and outside cabins, which are larger than average -- 177 sq. ft., 194 sq. ft. veranda cabins, and 300 to 1291 sq. ft. suites with private butlers.

The Fine Print

Alcohol Policy: Two bottles of wine per stateroom may be brought aboard; $25 corkage fee charged if consumed in public rooms.

Dress Code: On a one-week cruise, two formal nights are scheduled (suit or tux for men and and evening/cocktail dresses for women); "Smart casual" (slacks, khakis, jeans, and button-downs for men, and casual dresses, skirts and blouses for women) is suggested on other nights.

Gratuities: $11.50 per guest, per day, is charged to shipboard account, which covers waiters, room stewards and other service staff.

Children’s Program: Not as extensive as other ships. Supervised age-appropriate activities for toddlers (under three) to teens including private pools, kids’ menus, and babysitting.

Smoking Policy: Smoking is not allowed on ships (including cabins & balconies) although there are designated areas on deck where smoking is permitted.

Onboard Activities: The Corning Museum of Glass scheduled “hot glass” demonstrations; language classes, dance lessons; Smithsonian Journey expert speakers; Croquet or Bocce available at the Lawn Club. There is a full spa/gym with exercise classes and sports bars. Golf excursions are offered in Hawaii, the Caribbean and Alaska.
