Good experience

The crew were excellent, but the amenities could have been better. It's amazing that there aren't rest rooms on all floors and that the rest rooms are hard to find.

Dissaster at Sea

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Majesty of the Seas | Sail Date: Mar 17, 2014

Unfortunately, my husband became ill a few weeks before the cruise and a few days before the cruise he became disabled and bound to a wheelchair.  Due to booking this cruise and our excursions on your site the cruise line said they couldn't help me as far as refunding any of money on the excursions and couldn't change our room to a handicap acessible room.  Also, the picture of the room we booked was not the same room that we got.  Thats really deceiving and and dissappointing to say the least.  So here we are 4 people crammed in this tiny room with a wheelchair that wouldn't fit thru the door or in the bathroom.  Also, the ship it self was not very handicap friendly.  It was extremely difficult to get around and down the halls to our room and really spoiled our vacation. Which, i might add, may very well be the last vacation i get to take with him due to his health. Luckily, my husband could walk short distances with a cane or we would've really been in a world of hurt. There really should be policies in place for unforseen issues such as this.

Majesty of the sea

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Majesty of the Seas | Sail Date: Mar 17, 2014

My cruise started with Royal Caribbean losing me and my husband's reservation in the computer. After fixing this we were assured that everything else was ok. The cruise was nice, the prices of drinks were definitely too high, and the price for lobster and steak as well. Some of the guest were rude to other guest and to staff, leaving filthy tables for staff to clean, and sometimes that took a while before they cleaned the tables out by the pool. The lunch in the dining room was horrible as my husband and I were ignored for most of our lunch, and we did not get a water refill until I was standing to leave. The dinners were great, the food was very good and the staff were professional and excellent at their job. Jacqueline was our waitress and she was the best, along with the other staff members who served us. Our room attendent was the best, he was always asking if everything was good and he had our room looking impeccable everyday. The only other thing I did not enjoy was the guest services, some of the people were really rude like the girl who we asked to borrow a wheelchair as I had an incident with my back and she rudely stated that it would cost 250.00 to use one of their chairs, and then there was another member at guest services who I asked about my bill, I had not recieved my on board credit and he told me I did not qualify for one without checking to see if this was correct. The girl there did check and I was entitled to my credit in which they gave me, but when I got home they had taken it back and charged my bank account the full amount without the credit. I was so upset, but eventually they did correct that again. I don't think I would repeat another trip on the Majesty of the sea.

Awesome cruise

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Majesty of the Seas | Sail Date: Feb 17, 2014

Very affordable, smooth sailing and the food was excellent. We even took a tour of the area where they prepare the food and it was very impressive. The entertainment was enjoyable and crew members were very friendly, attentive and courteaus. There was a variety of thing to do for all ages. Had lots of fun at the casino and all areas of the ship.

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Majesty of the Seas | Sail Date: Feb 17, 2014

we celebrated our ten year anniversary with our very first cruise. we loved the feeling of being pampered.... we were very well taken care of in our State Room by Joesph & sit down dinners by Romeo & (not sure of her spelling) Yovonnya. But all staff every where was so nice & friendly.

Romeo was a great & wonder & attentive waiter....very pleasant experiance

And Yovonnya was the best assistant ever... they made our dinning experiance AMAZING...and the cherry on top they sang Happy Anniversay to us with a candle in a yummy slice of cheese cake....it was special touches that they did that was so wonderful....they went far beyond what they needed to do.....hope to go on a cruise again someday......

Cruise Photos

wonderful dinners placed with wonderful people ,Shannon & John, at our dinning table we are in the Bahamas ..... YAHOOOOOOO

Excellent cruise

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Majesty of the Seas | Sail Date: Feb 10, 2014

Can't say enough about this cruise  Service, food, room accommodations and cleanliness were excellent. Only disappoint I had was that cruise ship could not go to Key West because of high seas. This was a disappointment for me since I booked this trip specifically because it went to Key West.

Majesty of the Seas Cruise

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Majesty of the Seas | Sail Date: Feb 10, 2014

This was my very first cruise and I had heard so much of having a variety of foods during the night time and was very dissapointed not to find this was so on this cruise and also the entertainment part of it was not what I expectedd. However, I enjoyed it very much  and would certainly do another cruise but this time would try another cruise line.

Worth what we paid

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Majesty of the Seas | Sail Date: Feb 10, 2014

We enjoyed the cruise.  This was my 4th cruise on this ship and itinerary.  The first one 2 years ago was the best. The 70's party was best when they used to do it in the atrium and not confined to a room, it got everyone involved.  The belly flop contest was fun, not sure why they wouldn't let the last 2 contestants enter, everyone had fun and it wouldn't have taken that much longer.  The comedy show was good, the marriage show was fun. There used to be a nice band that played all day by the pool, no more.  The meals were good, the help was excellent in all aspects.  I think they need less young lound disco line dancing music and maybe throw in a little top 40 or rock and roll somewhere for us 40-60 somethings....

The dress code on board was bad, there was a boat full of 15 year olds running around half naked in thongs and it was pretty disgusting for all involved who had to sit in a hot tub or watch them dance and dress like hookers (where are the parents????)

The only MAIN downfall was the soda that we paid for and one of the two machines on the 12th floor never worked, the other was always empty as well as the ice.  My husband has a bad leg and there is no elevator to the 12th floor so he had to get up there time and time again to find it empty.  Thank you IGOR for helping out there.

There is a nice lounge up top, maybe some more adult music and entertainment up there would be nice instead of the same disco music everywhere.

Longer time at key west is a must, we couldn't get off the boat this trip which is the only reason we booked this cruise and if we did we would of only had 5 hours by the time we disembarked.

Its a nice itinerary, but a little more entertainment for us older folks, less loud music in the dining room or fix your blown speakers that were over our table.

Quick Get Away

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Majesty of the Seas | Sail Date: Apr 11, 2014

This cruise fit the bill as a cost effective quick get away.  The service and food were excellent!  We were able to enjoy each other's company, get plenty of sunshine and relax for a weekend.  I would highly recommend it.

Read for good info on Nassau...

Ship: Majesty of the Seas | Sail Date: Apr 04, 2014

For my boyfriend's birthday we decided to go on a cruise to celebrate - a first for both of us. Overall, we had a good experience and learned quite a bit. When boarding the ship we had no troubles - we boarded about two hours before the ship was set to leave and were able to go straight to our room to drop off our things. We had an interior stateroom on the 5th deck - very small but acceptable considering the small amount of time spent inside. Our attendent was great - very friendly and the room was always made up upon our return.

The ship itself was a slight disappointment - very small pool, Windjammer food for lunch and breakfast were terrible but the pool decks and bars were nice. The staff were always friendly and provided great service. We had the 6:30 seating for dinner in the Starlight Dining room and the food there was GREAT. Our server, Roche, was also amazing.  As this was our first cruise we didn't realize how old this boat was or that it is the last of its design still sailing. However - once docked in Nassau next to RCL's Oasis of the Sea we realized how small and old this boat actually was!

Coco Cay was okay - definitely do not stop at the first beach area. Continue walking to the area with hammocks and paddleboarding. The food here was okay - BBQ ribs was the only thing I was able to finish. RCL staff from the boat work on Coco Cay for the day as well and still very friendly.

Our third day was in Nassau - we got off the ship and were bombarded with locals trying to sell cab rides and tours. We immediately ducked into a Starbucks to plan our day as we weren't prepared to spend the money required to visit Atlantis. Spoke to some locals who recommended the beaches to right of the boat - easily walked there and immediately decided that we did not want to stay. The beaches were rocky and dirty and 20 feet away from the busy street. We kept walking and found a friendly woman selling great frozen drinks with fresh fruit who gave us the TIP OF THE DAY: stand on any street and the #10 bus will pick you up and take you to the NICE beach - CABLE BEACH for $1.25. We hopped on, were at Cable Beach in 10 minutes and it was beautiful sandy shores.  It is the same beach that the inclusive resorts are located on (i.e.: Sandals, Breezes). We went to the right and stayed away from the inclusive resorts (although you are allowed to put your towel down on their beach). We were maybe two of 15 people on our side of the beach. We were able to walk over to the resorts and rent jet ski's where we jetted around the water to look at the resorts and saw sting rays, sea turtles and some pretty big fish. The water is amazingly clear and blue. Stayed there almost the whole day before catching the bus back for another $1.25 ride and spent the rest of the afternoon shopping.

Self assist check out the next morning was a breeze - was off the boat and through customs within 15 minutes.

Great experience

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Majesty of the Seas | Sail Date: Mar 28, 2014

For my first cruise. I really enjoyed it. It was so much fun. The crew was great. The food was really good. And I liked how there was always something to do. The 70's night was lots of fun. And the games they had like the quest game was so much fun. Every one was pretty competitive with that one! I learned a lot from my servers at dinner. It was interesting to learn where was from. The Bahamas was gorgeous. Cococay was also.

Great cruise with a few drawbacks

small verified icon Verified Review | Ship: Majesty of the Seas | Sail Date: Mar 28, 2014

The cruise was very good including the entertainment and the smoking policy made it very comfortable for us non-smokers. The one drawback was with the unlimited Coca Cola package, the only machine was at the dining area, and when coming back onto the ship after a shore excursion swimming in the salt water and being very thirsty, when I went to the machine and got a small amount of ice and filled the glass with Dasani Water, I guzzled it down and went for a refill, but could not refill it for 8 minutes, so much for unlimited. And with the Royal Replenish drink package, It listed premium bottled water, but the only water you could get with the package was a cheap spring water, not the Evian water that they had for sale. The only other complaint, is on another cruise line I was on all of the food entries were included in the dining room, but on this cruise the Premium foods like lobster and Filet Migon were not included and cost extra if you wanted it. Other than that, It was a good cruise for the money.

WinkThey put me at 9 pm for the dining room, and my daughter was tired because it was late to eat . we didn't have desert, she couldn't wait more than that. The next day was at 6:30 pm , they take like 30 minutes to serve us ,and we didn't go back the third day.

Trip was good ship was not the best ive been on ,did not like the fact that you had to pay $30 if you wanted lobster or steak, staff were good.the island trip was good ,with food layed on ,had a good relaxing day there ,the water was crystal clear and the beaches good ,Nassau was a good stop for shopping and the beaches ,paradise island is a bit expensive ,would not go there again ,but rather stay in the downtown area of nassau ,with the beaches to your right as you leave the ship ,back on board i felt the dinner upstairs was not the best, and downstairs the 9pm seating was way too late and felt rushed through dinner ,the boarding was quick and easy, leaving the ship was olso very easy ,as we carried our own luggage out with us for the early departing ,which was good to leave before every one else.
